      @@cornbread7169 Those are the next eyes coming up when I read that, can't wait to see!😄 Yandere eyes are pretty challenging but if u keep drawing them you'll understand how they work, though depending on the anime character the eye may change. But really it's if want your own art style or not changing the character's look. Yato's eyes look like the second pair of eye's he drew but sometimes u need the change the eyes to look like the character's look or it won't be the same. Though, if u have the other stuff in the drawing like the character u should be safe. However u want to draw it is up to u.

That is what makes your characters ALIVE

    Of all tutorials, Mikey, you are the guy that I'm studying( please don't take that in any creepy way), I've just never learned to draw anime/manga and I really would like to, I love the shades, the large shapes and expressions. Another thumbs up, great work MegaMega! what I do, is, I'll watch a video from start to end if I'm not drawing along, but if I'm drawing along I pause when I need to because at times it's impossible(or seems to, because you have the skill) to keep up, but pausing and continuing is working for me. I already tried your first set of eyes and had a great time, I'm trying your second now, then next will be the rest. Please keep on making these great videos for me to learn from, this style is quite new to me so I've got all kinds of learning and rubbering to do.

    Just to correct you, the sclera is the white area of the eye/eyeball. The colored part is called the iris (plural - irises/irides). And of course, the black dot is the pupil.

    • @FritzieLulu
      @FritzieLulu 7 років тому

      Derringer Dace I dunno man, I think the 'anatomy' of the eye isn't something only med students know. And I certainly wouldn't call anatomy terms 'arbitrary' :D
      Terms like iris and pupil are commonly used in literature, for example. It always surprises me how many artists on UA-cam call the iris 'pupil'. But maybe these terms are more commonly used in my native language than English...?

    • @piiastarshark
      @piiastarshark 6 років тому +1

      You don't need to be a med student to use proper anatomy refs for clarification. It came off very confusing that he was using the word pupil to include the iris as well. That's not to say that you should be using actual medical terminology for body parts but knowing the difference between an iris ad a pupil, a calf and a thigh, a bicep and a forearm, etc., really helps especially when you're teaching someone else.

    From each of the drawing tutorials I've been viewing on youtube, mostly anything I learned in community college when students a year ahead of me or people that would , if you were trying to study drawing fundamentals to take animation later, claimed, " oh you can't be one of those people that all they draw are barbarians or anime while I'm thinking "what's so wrong with drawing barbarians and anime"? I think it was just general bias at that time. Especially since when students landed into animation one of the first things they had to "learn" to do was "simplify" their characters and everything in the animation, nothing too complex as it would be a nightmare to animate. Well, that's what one of our instructors claimed, but then again he, sold a thin book he himself put together to help you with the basics of what you would be learning in background design for 15 bucks, he lived out of his car, and burned his money at the lotto machines on the weekends or any night of the week he had some money. Fun course. And the unhelpful instructor wouldn't offer tips on how to correct any mistakes he circled in red pencil in your background layout upon his review. Too bad I didn't know youtube was "this" helpful so many years ago, I heard about friends watching t.v shows on it but I didn't know their were video's for learning.

    • @skeperb

      Maather Mutawakil What works for me at the least, is to draw a the other eye like a mirror image. For example, think how you write normally but if you show it to a mirror you look like you are writing backwards. Writing backwards makes it look normal. I don't really know if this makes any sense to you. But, like I said it works for me xD

    • @OhKaye
      @OhKaye 7 років тому +57

      Maather Mutawakil I would suggest drawing both eyes at once- whatever you do on the right side, you then do on the left and finish both eyes at the same time

    I was a realism artist all my life since I was a young kid. Always had a natural talent for it. Around 4 years ago I fell in love with manga and anime, and wanted to draw manga more than anything! It was difficult though from realism. Your channel really helped take me back to the basics back then, and understand how to draw manga style more. I now have been drawing my own manga the last year almost, and I wanted to thank you for your videos! It really helped me get as good as I am now on my own. Your channel deserves more credit!
