Did a little better on part 2, though not by much. Oddly I enjoyed the past 2 quizes simply because they were hard. They were good learning opportunities. Well done, BQ!
I got 20/20 (; Looking forward to part 3! Really great examples and questions. I won't get in detail here. But I just want to remark to the variation in Nr. 3 that this piece can be performed by two of the choices you gave depending on the production. But as this is American and the costume gives a hint, I did get it. But if this would be by the Bolshoi, the other choice would be right. But finding a single clip was definitely hard (also the original clip does not include a name), but a choice from a full version as ABT would make everything entirely clear. But this is not an issue, just a little reflection...
Thank you so much and well done!! I didn't know that about the American productions of Swan Lake. I guess I watch mainly Russian or European productions. Thank you for pointing this out 😊
@@BalletQuiz Oups, I looked him up, he's actually Australian at the Royal Ballet...well, it's rather the split in Swan Lake between the "western" and the "eastern" productions, in which poor Benno is removed. Then also the pas de trois male dancer is without name. I'm just too shaped by tour productions based on the Bolshoi(: But later I will need to discuss someday more (;
@@C.f.by-Lialia-A.R Actually, I mean the difference of Petipa's version and the Soviet version. Petipa's version is the one with the lovers reunited in death (with the apotheosis). But in beginning of the 20th century in Soviet time the ending was changed in Russia into a version in which the prince kills the wizard and there is such a typical fairy tale happy ending. This is what is traditionally at the Mariinsky and also rather close to Russia regions (such as Ukraine or Japan or China). But the British and American companies have rather kept Petipa's version, also keeping Benno as character (he got replaced in Soviet era through the court jester). But that's meanwhile not entirely a full rule, as companies meanwhile more freely decide about their production and stage creative new versions...
Lost count; scored a bit worse than part 1 but better than expected (12-14?). As ever, enjoyed some superb dancing and expanding my knowledge! Can never pick a favourite but Crassus made some spectacular shapes, seemed to be just getting going when the clip stopped! And Sarah Lamb dances beautifully - and when you listen to her talk about her roles she's always do thoughtful. (The Royal Ballet has been doing a superb job putting material on youtube, especially rehearsals and interviews.) Thanks for the game!
20/20 It was a bit harder than the last time, but it was still easy for me! I'm looking forward for part 3 and I expect it to be very difficult. Thank you so much for the upload!
Phew 😮 😂 😊 Twelve correct answers, tho I must say, I did it with great difficulty 😊! I knew 'Columbine's' Harlequinade' tho ❤; and Belyakov's 'Crassus' character in Spartacus ❤. There's this young 'Greek God', Actaeon, and Diana turned him into a 'Stag' ❤! Oksusnikov's moving quickly, he's getting into it, oooh he's ripping it in 'La Esmeralda' ❤❤❤! Great leaps and turns ❤. Thank you again @ B Q ❤❤😊; it's a delightful compilation video, I quite like it.
Very well done ! This one was harder from the part 1. I really liked Actaeon as well! And Columbine is a very young girl, very promising ! Thank you so much for watching ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Magnífico ejercicio. Salvo el primero, el resto son secundarios. Hay que trabajar el cerebro porque a menudo se conocen los nombres de los roles principales y poco más
