Hey Randall . You definitely are a thinking man .I always look forward to watching your videos . I can see a few tips I'll be borrowing from you ....I hope you get a very heavy honey crop. Thank you from your friends in Australia .
Really nice job on the honey house and addition of a dry/storage room. You are giving me lots of ideas. Keep us posted on how it goes. Like the roller pan idea. The rollers look stout. Thanks for sharing.
WOW YOU HAVE GOT IT GOING ON . That all looks GREAT Randall. Let me tell you from me finding my problem in my honey house. Please check around your building VERY WELL. I thought my building was tight .😂😂. No it was not . I put my supers in my building turned on heaters and Dehumidifier got everything set up I thought I was ready two days later I opened the doors and WOW . I bet there was 10-15 thousand bees in there and this was a NEW BUILDING. I had never had this to happen before with my old building so CHECK TOPS , BOTTOM AND ALL AROUND ALL DOORS and if you have VENTS , OVER HANGS let’s just say EVERYWHERE.😂😡😂😡😂. I had to laugh to keep from crying. Looks like you have done a great job setting up your operations. Congratulations and good luck . Thanks Randall
thanks, i did check when purchasing, it has screen in peak and luvers in overhang. i guess it was their solution to keep dirt daubers and carpenter bees out.
Really wish I had your building abilities Randall, you inspire me a lot. So I'm just gonna figure it out and measure twice and cut once hopefully. Appreciate what you do!
Randall carpenter comment, 😇Sorry guess ya really are never an ex-carpenter. If it was me I would add some blocking to the corners of your new building, it will make the building more stable less bouncy and feel more secure when you are moving things around in side. Sorry spent a lot of years in the industry and a few building those style sheds so I eyes notice things.😉 I didn't mean to make it a recommendations comment, I really like how you are using your space. Your new honey room should work great for you, I would love how you set up the fans for dehydrating. I love how you pump it directly into the container, nice clean setup Randall. I wonder if you could have a float shut off valve on the pump? Now I have honey house envy, some day I'll get to have. Great idea to putting everything on heavy duty coaster wheels. 🤠Ty for sharing your time Randall, Blessed Days...
thanks for sharing the blocking. the corner where i had the extractor strapped previous years had the blocking and it does make it more rigid for sure. i am trying the extractor this year not strapped. the clarifier did come with a float switch. thanks again.
You are becoming so professional. I really enjoy watching your videos and always learn something. I can’t wait to see all this in action and see how much honey you get this year
Looking forward to the extraction. I need a better setup myself. Where are you able to sell so much honey, and are you planning to sell it by the drum or jar? I can sell 50 gal pretty quick, but couldn’t imagine selling 300 gallons local!
Looking great. Be nice if the building were close enough to add a second small door and use a unloading ramp with rollers to transfer the boxes from one building to the other. Can't wait to see your harvest. ❤️🐝
Randell: I’m in central Alabama, at Leeds/Moody area. When should I be putting my honey supers on my hives? I always struggle when I should be putting them on my hives. Do you put your supers on a certain week of the year? Thank You Kenny
Drawn combs i start putting on in early march. For you that might be roughly feb 20th as you will be a good 2 weeks ahead of me in spring build up. allow broodnest to expand up thru 2.5 mediums.(i run single deeps.) Then in early april i shake bees down to first medium, move all brood as low as possible in mediums, and add queen excluder. If timed properly it should eliminate 90% of swarming and makes much bigger honey crops if you do not want to take early splits. If you take splits that is fine but yiu will not get as much honey. Foundations i do not add til last week of april, check weekly and add more as needed. By june 10th foundation drawing with natural nectar will be over. There needs to be heavy nectar flow for them to get drawn.
@@randallcarter-carterhillho2277 cool deal. This was my first year using a "drying room" and all as well at 4 days. Didn't want to push my luck. Thank's and God bless
Fantastic setup! More videos Randall.

Looks like you had a good plan and you are using it. Very nice improvements. One step at a time but always moving forward. Thanks for sharing Randall.
Thank you.

I like what you’ve done with the place!
thank you
Good video. Waiting for the extraction process.
thank you
Awesome setup

Thank you, after last year my back instructed me to seek easier ways.
I’ve done something similar to what you’ve done but not quite as elaborate I’d like to know where you got the pans and those rollers Thanks
the rollers are from harbor freight. the pans i got on amazon. search winware 18x26 aluminum sheet pan.
@@randallcarter-carterhillho2277 Thanks

I can sell 50 gal pretty quick, but couldn’t imagine selling 300 gallons local!
I will bottle and sale all of it. It goes to stores in a few area towns and i sale as well. I currently do not sale in drums.
Looking good Randall. Which honey pump and clarifier did you go with?
thank you, i got a brand new maxant honey pump and a used dadant clarrifier which has a float switch. i believe it holds around 12 gallons of honey.
Looking great. Be nice if the building were close enough to add a second small door and use a unloading ramp with rollers to transfer the boxes from one building to the other. Can't wait to see your harvest. ❤️🐝
thank you. i hope in a few years i can build a honey house.
Looks awesome! What are you selling your honey for roughly don’t have to give an exact figure. Selling per lbs in the 55 gal drum?
i will bottle all this up as needed. i currently am not selling in the drum. i am charging about $7.00 per pound.

Awesome setup, how big is your building your drying the supers in?
Thank you. It is 16x20.
Hi
Did you think about putting a passage way from one shed to the other building
yes, some day i hope to repurpose these buildings so i wanted to keep them in original condition. i hope to build a honey house in the future.
What's the longest you will leave them in the drying room
2-3 days is the goal. if supers are all honey with no bee bread from healthy colonies might can get away with a little longer.
