The Environmental Assessment submitted to BLM for the use this estimates the water table will be contaminated for approximately a century. They also estimate it will take forty years to get all the lithium out of the ground. Its gonna generate a LOT of money for the company. And screw local tribes (because the very best minerals can only be found near tribal lands and in pristine desert environments) for a hundred years. But - that's ok! Because its 'green'!
One estimate suggests that it can take up to 1.3 million liters (or 343,000 gallons) of water to produce one ton of lithium carbonate. So, to process 20,000,000 tons of lithium, you would need approximately 26 billion liters (or 6.87 billion gallons) of water.
I don't if ya'll noticed, but everything is melting... We are going to have plenty of water. ua-cam.com/video/aopdD9Cu-So/v-deo.html@@BabyBoomersDoomer
Right now that pollution is offloaded onto China. This will mean that the US will cause the pollution directly😂. My point is the pollution and especially the carbon footprint is same regardless.
This mine will likely not work out in the long run. The amount of water required to process lithium from clay is immense, and that’s a major issue when you’re in a dry area. No other lithium clay mine exists in the world today. Currently, all major lithium mines are either spodumene based(mostly in Australia) or brine based(mostly in South America)
EVs aren't green until they are done being produced and lest not even mention the possibilities of EV fires which water can't put out and release more toxic chemicals then a literal garbage fire 😂
Do you know how much land are they destroying to get that lithium ? Those sink holes that lately had been “ appearing “ in many countries is due to the negligent digging performed in there .

Century Lithium (TSXV:LCE , OTCQX:CYDVF) already has the LARGEST Lithium deposit in Nevada! And it's all Clay, AT-SURFACE! They're producing better-than battery grade lithium RIGHT NOW! They'll have a JV announced with ALBemarle (and potentially others) VERY SOON! A bunch of analyst reports rate it as OUTPERFORM with stock price targets at/above $3 USD = $4 CAD. Other than the currently depressed/oversold spot-price of Lithium, nobody can figure out why the heck it's trading at 50cents CAD ($0.38 USD). ???!!!!
Not true 😂 just remember the president whem we went to war with owne of the biggest oil producing nations (and opium producing nations during a supposed opium "crisis") was a Texas oil baron with substance abuse problems in his past seems a little to convient don't ya think 🤔
USA keeps living on easy mode 😂
USA got plot armor
Water is a big problem up there so who are they going to steal it from
Yes and mining contaminates ground water. We can live without lithium but nothing can live without water. Way to go Mr.President

From the Indian tribes
Water belongs to earth, you can’t steal what is meant for all of us
Lmk when y’all make the gas cheaper
And you people thought riding atvs on that land is bad wait till bulldozers trash it
If it can't be grown, it's gotta be mined.
Sweeeeeeeet dig it alllllll up...as usual the biggest and best is from the USA...suck it world
How much water do you need to process it?
All of lake mead

What will the carbon footprint be, when mined? They care about the environment until there is money to be made
Lithium is needed for photovoltaic cells to build solar panels. Much better to disturb a small area for the greater good

Oh that’s where I left my nirvana CD

You are acting like the water cannot be recycled into new water
WHY government it’s letting us know this foggy notice 🤔
Boom town!!!
Thanks for the information I think I’m heading out there to grab some lithium for myself😮
Look up who OWNS the deposit....hint : it's CHINA (major shareholders of Canadian company)
Yes and forecasted to make 80,000 metric tons of lithium a year. talking 800 billion gallons of fresh drinking water to make your lithium.
Such a green energy for cars what a load of bollocks
BLM is letting this ride
I’m from the government and I’m here to help! Oh 💩 never mind the government has determined this an eco- sensitive area that’s not to be disturbed.
Lose-lose for environmentalists here. Back it, and you're a monster. Protest it, and you are protesting EVs, and you're a monster.
We have to make some compromises.

@@mariosalazar7896yeah like we comprise and stay tf away from those overpriced status symbol golf carts 😂😂
They just dont give up on the electric car...
Do you know how much land is destroyed drilling for oil?
Why should they? Without its universal adoption, your grand babies will struggle to survive on a burned out planet. Congrats.

Who is going to sell china the rights to it
😮OK
After environmental and labor issues, it will be very costly to produce.
So who is going to go investigate everyone in charge of California etc for insider trading.? 🤔😁
We meet again.
Why are they mining in those areas they are to be preserved.
Because we need lithium duhhhhhh instead of relying on other countries..why don't you move there and supervise
for what?
The only reason they "preserve" anything these days is to prevent capitalism from working well in this country.
Preserved for what? It's barren land not even fit for ranching. Nobody goes there. It's fine.
It’s a desert…
And the environmental impact mining lithium?
Who is going to benefit the mining of lithium. Not buying it that we will be all EV in 6 years.
Ticker: LAC
Sounds like you guys should set up a permanent fund dividend like Jay Hammond did in Alaska. 😊❤
Did
Elon already buy that ?
Ok we have lithium ... now if we can only get those African children to work harder mining cobalt.
Trying to lure all the meth heads into a volcano?
Let the environmental lawsuits begin.
Send elon kids to help get it and buy the land
How long till you tell me some dood from China bought all that land?
Better yet, make our cities walkable and provide cheap public transportation so we can incentivize less cars and less destruction to our earth.
Yeah so in the event of martial law everyone is simply trapped at home
😂😂😂😂😂 yeah because we totally want to be in the governments schedule 😂 and walkable just means you have a harder time leaving the town 😂😂
By all means, let’s dig it up for Biden Batteries. 😂
yeah just dig up the desert and destroy the land to the point of no return.
Better lithium in the desert than coal in the Appalachians.
It's a desert who cares. Can't do SFA there anyway
Great so they gonna dig and cause an eruption
Not so great news for the Arabs. God knew we needed a break !

Avoid Big Oils GREED! Buy an EV.
Yeah, thanks found this out three months ago you’re a little late to the story 🙄
