The extraction process is a complex and important phase in the lithium production and processing cycle. Many industry professionals are interested in how lithium is actually extracted from the earth. In this video, we will talk about the extraction process, its various stages and what happens to the lithium after it's been extracted.
This 3D animation video will show the lithium extraction process from ore to high quality lithium carbonate.

Awesome design sir
Actually i don't know how to extract lithium
Complete details given
Tq u so much sir....
Exceptional job!
The music was good, too.
incredible work, this must have taken a lot of work to produce
Cool video thanks!
That was great
This is so unbelievably similar to the process of cement production
I realize I am quite off topic but does anyone know of a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Yusuf Raymond i use FlixZone. You can find it by googling =)
No, it's really not.
@@yusufraymond2649 googara
You REALLY KNOW NOTHING about cement production. It uses a lot of coal. And limestone
I want the 3d models So I can put it in my game lol, good work
What about the mine in Quebec Canada isn't it a huge one being built?
I'm not sure only having two copyright notices across the entire video is enough....
that truck driving on that thin overpass seems a little farfetch to me.
what is the average cost of refining aluminum per tonne
How much do these kind of infrastructures cost?
What software do you use?
As of 2020, Albemarle was the largest provider of lithium for electric vehicle batteries.
Who is from India 😎 🇮🇳
👍👇
Ukkmkb also
Lithium is a very common element.. Getting it out of the ground is the problem, It's always in the salt beds. the rest is easy..
If you could please provide a presentation on the names of the equipment and prices..!? So we evaluate the cost of the project so that we can transport the lithium ore from the mines to the factory
yeah, i think he's working on that right now for ya
How do I get started or hired in that industry?
Better than crude oil extraction and all the risk
Watching 2023. Feb jammu and kashmiri
Sweet and holy 3d , what is that mess , heard of catmull clark topology , just few control edges , or at least use higher poly count on cylinders , shadows are so sharp , have you ever seen a shadow that is so sharp , just diffuse them lights a bit , damn you for making this abomination.
Jeez dude, it's not THAT bad.
Ok where does one get all this equipment??? And who maintains it ?
from Alibaba bro😂😂😂 what question is that?
Could someone help me? What "cal signer" means?
Calciner, rotating drying equipment
@@yubaijade6727 thank you!
Heating anything in absence of oxygen/air is known as calcination. The drum here is referred to as calciner. Opposite is roasting , heating in presence of enough oxygen.
2:16 that is actually the part of the process, that I wanted to know about. I am a bit disappointed, that this got glossed over here.
So how does this work? You have a solution of different salts in the water, how do you seperate it into solution, with just one salt?
Based on the video, the separation is via differential solubility of Li2SO4 and glaserite. Cooling cystallization allows for glaserite (salt containing K and Na sulfates) to precipitate out of the solution while Li2SO4 remains dissolved.
What the hell is glacerite or glasserite ? And what are the chemical processes ?
this is potassium sulfate. Glaser is just a fancy way of saying this due to Glaser's salt being named after the pharmaceutical chemist Christopher Glaser who prepared it and used medicinally
would anyone plz help me understand what's lithium Baron solution ar 4:03? thx
This means a solution without Lithium
this is the liquid media after removal of Li2CO3 precipitate. So the first comment is correct, it is the solution rid of Li2CO3.
does this process have an environmental impact?
Atli Tobiasson no
Atli Tobiasson Very little
Yes
of course
As you can see that is debatable but the issues are due to it being very energy intensive to produce and some of the waste product
Which company has this kind of setup?
Lithium Nevada Project Overview - Western Lithiums
As of 2020, Albemarle was the largest provider of lithium for electric vehicle batteries.
Isn't Lithium an ingredient in some Psychiatric medicines?
Lithium is used to treat depression.
@@THOMASTHESAILOR Treating is a big word. Its used in small amounts to increase the effect of Antidepressants
Great presentation. Unfortunately this extraction process is used only on 3-4 places. Simply not profitable enough. Companies tend to maximize profit by using concentrate sulfur acid. To make more money they even failed to perform full process of neutralization. Final results extreme environment devastation . In addition such polluted water came to river net killing almost everything. Most civilized country prohibit this practice ( example Germany who has the largest Lithium deposit in Europe) but is used in poor countries with corrupted governments like Chile, Serbia, Bolivia etc..
Do you know if there’s any way for a lithium mine to be carbon nuetral with geothermal?
@@grant1430 No , that's not possible. The most advanced method is so called DIL Direct Lithium Extraction ===> ua-cam.com/video/QEGBc2znFdw/v-deo.html . This is the most safest way for environment but far away from being efficient or carbon neutral.
I'm glad you posted your reply . The dangers and ecological factors of using sulfuric acid on a grand scale as lithium extraction are great. The public is not told the whole truth of the dangers. Lithium is not a green alternative to other fuel sources in my opinion.
Bolivia has the most Lithium .
HelmetVanga
Western Australia's Greenbushes Lithium mine is the Largest & highest Grade Lithium mine
Bolivia has the largest reserves, but their production is minimal because of bad previous experience allowing foreign powers exploiting their resources (silver and tin for example) and they do not have the 'know how' to exploit themselves the lithium at a large scale.
@@malulo plus, they have lower quality lithium, which not only makes the batteries it produces less durable, but it also has higher extraction costs.
Today Perú has the most
Omfg how much energy is used in the process thats ridiculous
This is perhaps one of the most misleading explanations I have ever seen.
They left out the child labor and inhuman working conditions part!
