Great content Will, love it. I had no idea about light bars even though I work on Computer all day. Please keep bringing unknown device reviews like this up
GizmoChina Bro! I love your works!! looking forward to more content like this. It's very interesting to see the state of China's tech community, as it provides valuable information that is hard to find on UA-cam.👍 Would be happy to see a review of the monitor you use. I have the impression that monitors sold exclusively in China, such as Xiaomi's monitor, are very competitive, so I'm interested to know the experience.
Thanks man, didn't know that I would be recognized, so thanks! About the monitor, it is just a 27" 2K Samsung monitor, not too much to talk about actually, but let's see.
I have this light bar and its quite stable on my AOPEN 27" monitor and I power it through my APC surge protector USB out and the light is very stable. For the price I paid, I am quite impressed.
Hello, In this model the lights can only be controlled by the remote or the app? Does not have a manual on/off in the light bar itself? Thank you for the review and good points.
Yes, there isn't any button on the light bar, it connects to the remote by 2.4G signal, you press the remote to turn it on/off. I don't think it's good to put any button on the light bar anyway, since it does not stay put on the monitor that well. And yes, you can control it on the app, you can set it on/off at a certain time, or some other automation.
Nice review and I managed to purchase this when I was in Hong Kong. However I am unable to add this to my Mijia app account which I use for my doorbell and electric kettle. Which QR code did you scan and how did you add it to the Mijia app? Thanks
It could be a server problem, Xiaomi may have different servers for china and global market. You can change region in the App, then try to create a Mijia account with Email address.
@@willchutech i tried following those instructions the app said “connect to the yeelink_light” but there was nothing in my wifi settings also i cant find any “MI Monitor Light Bar” only the yeelink lightbar is available
@@FinalFragment1 well that's weird. Based on my experience dealing with Xiaomi smart home devices, you may want to check these: 1. See if it only support 2.4Ghz WIFI 2. Try log in to the Mi Home app with an email address and then set the country as China. Do not log in with a phone number 3. Try reset the light bar, it says power on and off 5 times in a row, must be done in 7 seconds, then try connect it to the phone again. I just did it when you asked this question, so you may also want to try this. Let me know if these can solve your problem.
Don't buy this crappy light bar. A lot of poeple already fell victim on this. It may look premium on the outside but the insides are substandard. You're lucky if its still running in 2 years. but mostly you'll only get as early as 3 months of life on this up to 1.5 years. So I don't recommend this if you're using it for long term.
Totally agree, I am having issue with the on and off function already. whenever something plugs in or off the same charger that this light bar is in, the light will be on, drives me crazy. I am calling for customer service right now.
I was considering purchasing this light bar. Thank you for sharing your experience. Are there any other light bar recommendations you can suggest? (I'd like to avoid BenQ due to the high cost.)

how did you connect the monitor light bar to the xaomi home app
Good question. It utilizes the WIFI in your room, and there is step-by-step guidance when you want to connect the light bar to the Mi Home app.

i think there are two versions of the lightbar one supports the app control and one not
I have the global version, and I didn't have issues like you're having. I'm just not sure about its longevity in the future.
Should last decent period of time I think.
