I believe they protect the battery from any surges but best to double check with manufacturer.

Look up Accelerate Off Grid. They are based on Sunshine Coast but also online. We just did our first camping trip since installing and it didn’t miss beat.

With the wire connected to the ignition source, that should cover the smart charge alternator issue.

Got quoted $6500 for a dual setup for my 2010 ranger.. parts were $1700.
No wonder people install their own. Least this one came with instructions for you.
