- JonathanDavis Announces Fill in Drummer Aric Importa & Here to Stay & Falling Away From Me, Korn, T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada; October 15th, 2021; Fall North American Tour w/Korn; Drummer Ray Luzier out with Covid - Fever 333's Aric Improta filled in; 1st 2 songs of the set
Aric getting the respect he deserves! He’s one of the most original drummers there is right now. Phenomenal drummer. Check him out for all who don’t know him.
Best drummer they've ever had.
Damn, they sound really f**king good in 2021. Gotta give them credit.
As a drummer I would love rock out with korn.
Good drummer, the time is perfect, good groove.
they are getting stronger and stronger. But i still want an original korn reunion for atleast a show. That'd be the perfect end to this korn season
He's more in Davids pocket with his drumming style. Great job.
This reminds me a lot of the “adidas/good god” performance on the family values 99 album. Makes me think of David’s drumming style and how much I miss it
That’s how Aric does it better with “Here To Stay” & the drumming is really in perfection!
I see his breaths starting to come back fuck yes 🤘
Wow! Great job Aric! I want to see him doing his jumpflips thou!!
Thanks for the upload! I love Aric from Night Verses, so it feels like a proud dad moment to see him playing with frickin' Korn! Bummed Jonathan didn't mention he's also in Night Verses, but whatever. 😂
Lol exactly!
Love Ray but I don't think the old stuff has sounded this good in years. He got that different kind of pocket vintage Silveria had. Ray is a beast, has a different feel though. Super proud for Aric too.
@@neb999 you’re trippin
@@travisspaulding9540 that’s your opinion (see what I did there?😂)
@@neb999 You're not tripping. Aric doesn't overpower the instruments as much, he gives the guitars room to breathe like Silveria did. Korn should hire this man ASAP.
Epic memories from an epic night 🤘🏼
I didn't know this guy and i respect ray a lot but.. i think he is actually better
They sound fuckin great. Crowd is on point too.
best drummer
I love how this "David had better groove" thing became some kind of comment section meta below every Korn drumming topic.
Yes, Silveria was a good drummer. Yes, the old stuff sounded very raw and natural. But even with him that were the first two albums and after that the sound and production quality changed completely. If you listen closely to a lot of the old songs from album 1 and 2, you actually realize that his playing was kinda sloppy, sometimes off tempo and far away from being creative or versatile. When Ray joined Korn the whole approach to combine everybody's style was taken to another level. He has so much experience in different genres, such an exemplary attitude and his musical range is insane. I dont care, if a few songs from 94 had great groove, I think Ray increased Korn's overall quality. Give David the 10/10 groove if you want (which is a very personal feel by the way), but versatility, timing, technique, creativity, experience, knowledge, dynamics... there is not a single category where Silveria would outplay Luzier. He is by all means not a bad drummer (at least before he turned into steroid Hulk) but Ray to me is in the top10 of all rock/metal drummers in the world.
Completely agree! Ray may very well be in the top 2 best rock drummers out there. I just wonder why he doesn't play the groove the way Silveria did
I definitely agree! Ray Luzier's style works for what Korn is doing now. However, in terms of getting the feel of the old songs, Aric Improta nailed it. And without surprise, too. Aric is also one of the best drummers today, even better than Ray IMO. Check out his 40-minute drum solo or No.0 playthrough. He understands what's needed in a song and plays it to that level.
I love ray, but this is the first time in a long time that Korn has really sounded like Korn. The drums are pretty much identical to the album versions and sound a lot like David's drumming. This is the closest we'll ever get to hearing Korn with those badass Silveria grooves.
I agree. I just don't believe Ray fits with Korn. Much respect to Ray and he is an amazing drummer, but I just don't like him with Korn.
@@kellychampion9767 Well, Ray has been in the band for 14 years now, two years more than David. I think the band finds him worthy :D
@@HarryCaneNo1 He's more than worthy, in fact Ray is too good for Korn. His comment says Ray's style doesn't fit w Korn & Aric gives those original Korn drum sound (feel)
@@kellychampion9767 Right. Ray would be a better fit in a Progressive Rock band. I love Ray though, he's an awesome person and a legendary musician!
Ooh bro lol i just saw fever 33 and they said they flew out a drummer for there show lmao i guess now i know where there drummer at now lol
Can you blame him? If his other band has a problem with his choice that just wouldn't make sense because he got the chance of a lifetime. Personally, I like Aric's double bass drum sound, he has a much more simpler approach than Ray and honestly I think I prefer his drum sound for KoRn over Ray's technical sound. I love both drummers though.
I like how I can hear the guitars more with this drummer too, he doesn't dominate the songs quite like Ray does and it gives more life to the guitars and bass.
@@leadme2thebliss21 nah i cant i didnt really care for feaver 33 anyways i more went to see kse
@@leadme2thebliss21 a little bit more like how David wrote the songs I think.
Aric is literally one of the best rock drummers alive, of course he's going to absolutely own these relatively easy songs.
LMAOOOOO so true 😂
Ray is one of the best drummers on the planet and most people don’t even know that because Korn’s formula doesn’t call for anything crazy.
@@travisspaulding9540 Agreed, Ray is easily top five in drummers for me, but Aric is my absolute favorite.
Man...Korn still puts on the same show they did 20 years ago...same intensity. How were they the opening band on thus tour???
Cause SOAD is a bigger band worldwide, don’t get me wrong, SOAD has released some amazing music, but Korn plays wayyyy better live
Korn opened for Linkin Park in 2004 too, let's not forget. LP sold more records than Korn most likely, LP was insanely popular back in the mid 2000s. Headlining bands aren't always selected because of how long they've been around! Korn are lifers, they've remained an active band their whole career without ever taking a significant break!
Who played bass in this video??too fat for Fieldy, additional as well??
Ra Diaz from Suicidal Tendencies. Very good bass guitarist. Technically he is better than Fieldy.
like him better than Ray tbh
DUDE. This guys is sitting right in the groove and directly where he needs to be. Ray has to go. sorry dude
Don't be sorry. As fans we should all have a voice and opinions and stand behind those opinions. After all, the reason these guys have million dollar homes and tour busses is because of the fans, wouldn't be too much playing to an empty amphitheater!
