I currently finished building my n54 engine upgraded turbos, went catless, slightly bigger intercooler, upgraded air intakes, upgraded spark plugs, upgraded ignition coils and soon index 12 injectors I am going stage 2+ soon but I am hoping to push 500whp and ooh i forgot to mention am upgrading the low pressure fuel pump to stage 2 as well will use an MHD and XHP tune
That's where I am at with my N54 brother. I just shredded the serpentine belt and will be changing out the pulleys and crank seal/bolt capture and kevlar belt. Upgraded turbos, fueling system and some adjustments and I'll be testing her outside 👹. It's sick seeing everyone's builds and looking for the differences that make each ride stand out. 🏁🏁🏁🔥
I always wanted the nice looking 135i with the N54 and DCT but heard too many horror stories about the reliability issues so missed out unfortunately 😢😮
Had 3 N54's now, 2 manual and a DCT All have been completely fine with some basic maintenance but I'm not going to pretend there isn't plenty of things that can go wrong. Ended up it was the DCT on mine that caused me more major issues.
@@craigy87have an n54 the only thing that has happened was popped belt, and transmission faults. Which just needed to be flushed and did that rubber valves and it’s been solid.
@mogulme6190 Yeah there not the worst, the manual cars I have had never had any issues other than old coil packs going but some eldor coils an some better spark plugs sorted that out The DCT blew its charge pipe up but there name of plastic and then sadly the DCT started having major issues.
Lovely looking car (although not a fan of the front winglets, whatever they're called), sounds good too, what an I6 turbo should sound like!, and mental power from one of those too!😁
@Assimilator1 was more a joke really I'm not sure of the actual reason for the reg but there is the common 30FF low boost pressure code the N54s can suffer from

I own a e92 335i n54 with pure turbos running 525 hp
Has now 210.000km no problems so far

Grab some F80 calipers and a e92 M3 master cylinder call it a day👍🏾
