I believe barracks is in a good spot right now. It's not too strong, but a solid midgame option with diminishing returns the more you invest and place down. Bottom path could use a small buff though.
Ngl this is the first tower defense game that made changes for the better for beginners or the start of the match. Usually they just focus on the end and trying to make batshit crazy stuff at the endgame that you have to grind like 24 hours to get the right towers and stuff for.
You could already beat inter before any changes with only operator and missile troopers on volcanic island still i like these changes since they dont really affect harder towers to get(except war lol)

Honestly i think just making barracks (and future unit towers) units not be able to collide with each other, like making them stand behind each other is better
Yeah it hurts especially for top path so it encourages a mixed use of bottom path since most of its units are close quarters as rioter barely has any range and flamethrower kinda wants to be nearer to enemies to maximise his 100 pierce it also allows to fix the rare instances where rioters would be behind more important (as they would be too close so rioter would just kinda shoot at the enemy behind said troop)so now hes runs infront other units which is his purpose.Otherwise 7 barracks is very fun

I think the fun of stacking units is one of the main reasons I even use barracks, so I dunno if this was a good idea, cause what's the point of having more barracks if they can barely find a spot to shoot from? Yes they still die and do damage, but you basically lose out on a feature of a tower just for a nerf.
Probably wont happen, the path is too short where with the new unit system, doesn't allow the troops to stack effectively and there will be a point where its already filled up and units will just be ramming into enemies directly.
what you could do for the line of sight problem is have the track be a big bubble of range and only have some of it active per troop and just for line of sight not have the bubble part over the *WALL*
The only tower defense game that doesn't powercreep unused towers not mainly because most towers have level locked req's(not that its a new feature anyway) But its because its improves the Quality of Life in the game(actually considerable as real BALANCING if it isn't giving out understandable nerfs/buffs)
i hope john doesnt see this but a barrack glitch is when 3 ppl leave it makes the last player able to place 7 barracks and then they can do that with other players until 28 barracks 👀 (pls john dont see this)
Can you just make Oeprator fire faster but with less dmg, its unrealistic with how slow the supposed SMG's shoot. (UMP45, MP5 and the assault rifles.) And would just be cooler.
After playing with barracks for a week. Its pretty good but not op, still requires support of other towers to help reach to the end of the boss waves. Overall I think it's in a great spot.

Idea: some tower that has a shield that bosses will target, the damage that goes to the shield bearer does significantly less damage than to the other towers. It does very little damage as it does get a pistol that only does like 3 or 6 damage idk. This makes it very similar in look to the barracks rioter but then again think about the railgunner. Anyway, top path will focus on damage nerf while bottom path will focus on health and shot damage. It will prob cost 850.
Hey John ik this is out of the blue but I have an idea for a future gamemode you could have a mode were 2 or 4 or even 6 players could be split up into teams were one team is the zombies and the other places towers and my and you could buy different zombies or you could unlock more zombies as the waves progress or you could have a gamemode were you have two armys of zombies going against each other ik you probably won't add this but if you do thanks
I have 2 suggestions: 1 Please add a bar to the level 2-5 railgunner because at that level it is not possible to know so easily how much time is left until it fires, making it difficult to take advantage of the john ability What I suggest is adding a bar like the one artillery has to know how much longer it takes for it to fire. And 2 make the barracks units Leave space for more valuable units, for example if That the scouts can leave free spaces if there is a rail that does not have a space.
i think they should make ancient sky island sort of easy mode now, since you cant stack the freaking rail trooper which is an instant win in elite,interminate and easy mode

Something I recommend you do is make the abilities like tds and you don’t have to click on the tower to activate the ability because I spam down bottom path operators currently because that’s the best tower I have and it annoys me to click on every single one of them and click the ability but that’s your choice if you want to add something like that

Hey john i got a suggestion of a tower: plasma gunner does low damage but has infinite pierce on the top path it does more damage and attacks the last enemy, the bottom path it shoots very fast but does low damage and its pierce gets removed.
