I’m so excited to see you try this. I was doing this long before I ever discovered pouring. I use bowls so you can do rings and patterns. I’ve done it on pretty much every kind of glassware.
I did this last year on ornaments I bought at the dollar store. The nail polish looked great on frosted, metallic balls and on glitter covered balls too
I used to have long nails. The designs you can make with the water marbling is so awesome. I think this is a great idea using the Christmas bulbs. What’s really cool is if you let one drip of nail polish go in and then alternate colors dripping inside the circle. Then you can a toothpick and pull from the outside in a make some cool designs. I used to dip my nail in there on an angle and then collect all the rest of the nail polish so when you pull it out it does not come out clumpy. I noticed you did do that on your second one. But the first one was very awesome. I have so much nail polish. I am going to have to give this a try with some of my Christmas balls.❄️TFS
I think they are absolutely adorable and it really will be a fun project for my grandchildren and your children , to make their own ornament for Christmas and make memories doing it !!! Thanks for sharing it with us and yours is absolutely gorgeous!!! Thanks Lisa 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am a nail tech and I've done this on fingernails. I think it works best if the water is room temperature. The nail polish dries so quick with cold and warm water. And you are right, you have to work quick.
You could put paint inside after it to. Plus do samething with spray paint to. Just dont double dip or take to long. Use warm water. Looked great! Luv ya gal
Can this be done with pigments mixed with acrylic polymer? Ive seen something similar done with guitars. Ty for the video.. learned something new today
@@purplepanterachick I don't mean hydro dipping them as I don't know if that would work although I will try it. I just dabbed alcohol ink on a blending tool and then dabbed it on the ornament. Mixed media girl has a tutorial on her channel which can show you much better.
@@wendylambert3584 thank you for your response. I'm not sure alcohol inks would work in water.. perhaps just replace the water with alcohol? Sounds crazy right lol. You never know.
In case it matters, the colder it is, the faster nailpolish dries. So doing this in a warmer location or maybe warm water might keep it more liquid longer.
I dipped ornaments with spray paint yesterday. Epic fail. I know I did everything right, but it kept coming up stringy and clumpy. I fully submerged, etc. Personally I can't sell something that looks like that. Super bummed
Don't dip your ornaments into the water. Glide it along the polish & pull it up. That helps with the clumping. I use distilled water also. It may help.
@@Papacam797 thank you I have tried doing this on canvas turns out good other than having some weird air bubbles so was wondering if it was because of the temperature of my water. I will have to get some distilled water and try it as I also used water from our well.
Look up nail art videos for water marbling. Guylene325, Moon baby nails, My simple little pleasures are a few to check out. The water has to be room temp, the same temp as the polish. Some people swear by bottled water others say it doesn't matter as long as the water and the polish are the same temp. Suzie on Nail Career Education did one with ornaments a few yrs ago. Fast drying polishes are also harder to work with. Usually cream polishes also work better, I don't know I've never done it. I bet you could get a ton of ideas from them, even with paints.

I tried these with my grand babies and they had so much fun!

Those colors are cool...it looks like a globe. I like the texture of the first one.
In the nail art world, this is called water marbling.
That's what she posted in the description 😉
Someone I just watched called it 'sumnagoshi.'
I've always called it marbling.

I like the texture too. It doesn't bother me. Looks great. xxx 💖💖💖
Love it! So fun! Ok ok. I'm painting tonight...maybe marbling. I just gotta!

You can fill them with tinsel or mylar flakes to add extra sparkle to them

Thanks...
This is so cool!!
Ah nail polish!! Great idea as you can do I indoors! It's freezing here! 🥶🥶🦒
Linda, NZ, what I really like about you is that you are willing to try all sorts of new techniques, they may work, they may not!
I use this method to paint my nails a marble look. I will have to try this method on canvas. Hehe.. some polishes wont work..
😎🥰these ornaments are super awesome💕 I have over a dozen bottles of nail polish to try this with, thank you for inspiring me🤗👍❤️
Does it matter what kind of polish you use? Dollar store, gel, etc.? (I already figured out glitter doesn't work ...) Thanks for your response!
You could put paint inside after it to. Plus do samething with spray paint to. Just dont double dip or take to long. Use warm water. Looked great! Luv ya gal
I wonder if it's best to warm up the nail polishes first, by just putting the pots in warm water?
Maybe they'd come out easier.
Do you need to seal them with a clear coat of some sort once they dry? I'd think the nail polish would scratch off the glass ornament
You could coat the inside of the ornaments to make the colors pop more on the outside. ❤
Sure, or just pre-paint them
I want Cristine to try this! She should also watch some of your how-to videos and try acrylic pouring!
I love this one 😍! I think the nail polish makes them look like blown glass they are awesome 👍😁🙌👍😜❤️❤️❤️
So sprinkle glitter on the top of the water 💧
On the ornament it's self what's best to use, plastic or glass? I've tried with plastic but it's not turning out good
I've done this before. Old nail polish doesn't work. It sinks. I liked the nail dip better with white items like cups and plates.
Can this be done with pigments mixed with acrylic polymer? Ive seen something similar done with guitars. Ty for the video.. learned something new today
I was thinking of doing this but I think I will stick to alcohol ink or spray paint. Thanks for the review.
Wendy Lambert would you mind a brief explanation on how to do with alcohol inks?

You do some neat things.
They look great! How long does it take to dry? Thanks for this😁
Would the spray paint work?
When water marbling with nail polish, it is usually done at drop at a time. And yes you do have to work fast.
What would you use to seal it?
Rustoleum crystal clear enamel (spray).
In case it matters, the colder it is, the faster nailpolish dries. So doing this in a warmer location or maybe warm water might keep it more liquid longer.
She used warm water 😉
You can use glitter polish just drop it in with the brush. Look at different water marbling videos. See my simplelittlepleasures.

Maybe could try fairy lights inside
Started with nail polish now we are here
Silly question. What if you filled the tub with alcohol instead of water. Thoughts ??
You'd be very drunk...lol jk I have no idea. Interesting thought
@@MixedMediaGirl true 😂😂😂

Me encantó gracias Dios te llene de bendiciones 😊😊😊😊
I never could get this to work well. Only certain polishes would work better than others. You definitely have to work fast LOL
I think you have to use a smaller container so the polish doesn't spread out so much.
I think it’d help if you left the caps unscrewed, so you don’t have to pause to do that
Can you do this with alcohol ink ?
No, it won't work :(
Don't dip your ornaments into the water. Glide it along the polish & pull it up. That helps with the clumping. I use distilled water also. It may help.
Does it also matter with the temperature of the water?
Room temperature. i learned how by watchig a lot of marbalizing videos on here.

Also, use a smaller container.
Nice experiment. The second one came out better!♥ #KnowledgeIsPower! #AwesomeTeam♥
Did you think it was easier to cover the ornaments with the spray paint or the nail polish?
Next time use a dropper. It’s easier. And it dries very fast.
My paint on the inside watermarble the outside 😱
