We have acquired most of these episodes unofficially by reaching out to the Great British public. I used to love smoking Hash. That smell when you’d break it up over a clipper lighter.. bloody lovely. They were the days, jumpers for goalposts, one spliff & a couple Guinness. And then off to work..

Well done Roger, you single handedly caused the explosion of the UK home grown cannabis market, as the imports from Morocco were effectively stopped. Now cannabis is available on every street in Britain and it is 5 times stronger than the imported rubbish. As an avid cannabis smoker I can only thank you for your contribution to making drugs stronger and much easier to get hold of.

@@David-h4z2s I guess you mean Skunk generically, not as in the specific strain from Sensi Seeds. Sounds a lot like Sativa weed you are talking about there, which makes me trip if I smoke enough,.. Indica weed is a totally different experience and more like good hashish in it's effects. Northern Lights is a nice mild Indica. That stuff just makes me warm and fuzzy not having weird thoughts like sativa types do,.
Yes you are spot on , similar happened to ecstasy at the same time in early 90s, only reason they came down super hard on it at the time because all the ravers on E not buying booze and drinks industry lobbied the government. This did not help because punters went onto harder more deadlier drugs...
looking at the comments section makes me laugh saying cook was brave.. surprise ambushing middle aged semi retired bank robbers shoving a camera in their face isnt brave, odd that he never investigated the institutional child abuse that was going on in the UK at the time(!) i guess the people behind the curtain cant let him investigate REAL crimes so send him to Spain chasing cannabis smugglers living in Marbella ...

I love the cook report especially the British crims in Spain.
I was in ChefChaoun ( riff mountains ) in 1994. The hash was so cheap and so good it was heaven . $10 for a house brick sized block of black putty.

@@TheHarrybo1 Chaoun is much closer and the place to go for smaller amounts,Kettama another 100K down road is for Tonnage,or rather was at the Turn of this Century.I been to Chaoun many times myself i love the place and it's Cuisine! :) I used to live across the straights in southern spain with my family for best part of three decades.On a good day you could see the Riff mountains from the spanish coastline.Funny i met someone in Chaouen called Robbie too heh.

The problem is that today's weed is grown indoors using synthetic fertilisers and weed killers that are banned for use everywhere else it's these chemicals that are sending people doolally not the cannabis itself

I love dom Littlewood but he's shitewood compared to Roger tv show back in the day.
Dominic Littlewood is a very, very, very poorman's version of Roger Cook and he only deals with dodgy builders etc. Roger went well out of his comfort zone and into places of extreme danger to get to the story.

They're building it up to be something else. I have been to Ketarma many times, the same farm, same people. The man in the film is now dead. There are not many up there who speak that good English. An Englishman first showed them how to press hash correctly. Before that they had been smoking Kiff for many years! I know his sons, really nice people. They are just farmers. Hash is legal there. They were always great people to do business with. The youngest son rang me not so long ago to inform me that they now had internet in Ketarma on the farm! I have stayed many times for a 2-week holiday, returned with 2 kilos of high-grade first shake top of the plant. You had to be careful, as they work on a like-dislike basis. I have seen a few getting busted on the same flight in Fez airport. Like they said, its all corrupt, so you pay your way out. Customs and police were paid off by the farms. Dec to Feb was always the time when you can get obtain cream. They grow many different plants these days. Mexican being one of my favorites. Some of the indian is always amazing. I don't smuggle anymore, as i got myself in recovery! Fond memories!

With the availability of new strains of high potency cannabis in the US/Netherlands a lot of the growers are now using these seeds to produce really high quality hash. Not as much hash is coming into the UK as it was previously, but the soapbar/low grade stuff that became common in the mid-late 90's/ 2000's is starting to become less common and replaced with incredible quality hash. I've seen some ounces of this stuff sell for £200-£300. You can still get the mid range reasonable quality stuff for roughly £100 an oz which is what a lot of older smokers want, but the younger hash smokers want the high potency stuff these days, similar to the weed market. It's very much quality over quantity these days, not as many people buying hash as 30-40 years ago but what it available is high grade.

CBD/N balances the effect of THC.
Natural weed or hash made from natural weed, has a natural balance of these chemicals.
"Skunk" has become unbalanced with too high a % of THC vs CBD/N, meaning the psychoactive effects are not balanced out, hence the increase in MH issues.
Now in 2024 and nothing has changed. It's just gone to write powder called cocaine.
