I play the GHB and smallpipes, both of which i play to a competent level. However,i want to learn the Northumbrian smallpipes. I have no teachers around my area and accordingly, these lessons are invaluable and sincerely appreciated. I also very much appreciate your style of instruction. Thankyou so very much and God bless you.
Where on earth can I purchase a set of pipes like yours. It seems that they are so hard to come by. If you would kindly help I would be most grateful, thank you.
If I wanted to learn this instrument and I live nowhere near anybody that plays, makes, or teaches it, what should I do that doesn't involve forgetting about it?
Buy one online, I know an amazing maker if you have a bit of money and you are serious. You can teach yourself, there are some amazing online lessons like this one here and a bunch of helpful tips on forums. Once you get through some of the awkward technical aspects in the beginning like bellows, bag pressure and staccato it becomes very straightforward. If you want to start out extremely basic buy a Irish whistle. Whistles are obviously a completely different beast but they will allow you to develop basic fingering techniques and getting comfortable playing melodies.
This is a fantastic tutorial, just brilliant

What are each of the notes that the chanter can play? I have a set of pipes but I don't actually know what notes I'm playing
Can the chanter be held with the right hand at the top?
