I'm definitely really fortunate! This event and video are thanks to hard work from a number of people! If it's something you wanna do, start small and work your way up, I think the first one we ever did a few years ago had around 5 or 6 people.
Me and a few friends get together and have a mini 4 man lan party at one of their houses. All we have is a 5 port switch, and an 8 port power strip(with USB ports *Bought off amazon*). We all play PS4 so not quite the typical lan party. but it's still fun having another next month so I'm looking at different parties to catch some ideas.
@@JoshWiniarski I was trying to put a one in my school it was kind of possible because luckily there is a router with thousands of cables in it I got some nice games like cs 1.6, wc3 minecraft but the guys didn't know how to do anything they even didn't know how to buy stuff in counter strike how I mean how in the world can this be
@@amarm.m.5968 That sounds sweet (except for the part where people sound sorta inexperienced haha). Hopefully if you do it again people will be a little better!
Man I really miss the old lan party days. Most of my lan friends got married, had kids, moved away. I need to meet some new people to hook up with that lan. Lol
Yeah I feel ya. I only started recording ours towards the end of High School. Now we're off at college, working, moved away etc. So thankful I've got these videos to look back on though :)
My high school would always host "network stress tests" just before Christmas. We had 2 IT rooms so we had to spread it out in between. People who couldn't bring PCs/Laptops could use the computers we have there (unblocked from school stuff and some games pre-installed)
Wow can't believe how much traction this video has gotten! This is my 3rd time filming one of our LAN Parties and without a doubt my best edit so far, thanks so much for the support everyone!
This is awesome man. Looks like great memories with your friends! Our gang mostly play online nowadays, but we try and get together once a year for a weekend lan. It's really epic but it flies by. Work and kids tire you out during the week and by midnight everyone is wasted 😂
Ive been to a LAN party once with friends but in our Country (Norway) there is a massive LAN called HordaLAN with like 1000 people or something that lasts for 4 days and i really want to go there
so far all my lan parties have been on laptops, 1080p60fps is enough for me and my friends. we play the classics: lol, nfs, l4d2, csgo and gtaonline. it is a fascinating experience.
That's awesome! Our first ones were around 6-8, but having a friend who is an electrician, good with networking, and owns a shop has definitely helped us do bigger LANs like this haha!
Not very well haha. Anything more than 4 people and the internet starts dropping pretty quickly. The trick is to set up servers on a local network so everyone is playing together locally when you have this many people, then it works perfectly!
So can somebody explain to me like how I can have one of these, and most of all what the point of one is? Do people do it for faster connection speeds?
Well to set everything up is a somewhat complicated process depending on how many people you have. Probably best to do some googling because I can't go over it all in a comment. The point is to get as many people together to play videogames haha. Sometimes we get everyone in a single server and it's just a lot of screaming, yelling, and its just an incredible time! You want to do it over a local network because if you try to do more than 4 people online via internet, your internet will get insanely slow. Hope this helps!
Not my internet, it was my buddy's. We set up our own local servers though, so aside from downloading games, when playing together ping was almost non-existent!
Thanks, I appreciate the constructive feedback! It definitely isn't perfect, but it came together nicely and all the guys there love looking back on the memories!

Man this was awesome. Saw you linked this in Audrey’s discord. I wish I could have been there. Y’all had a blast. How were you able to connect everyone to internet and not lag. I would love to do something like this but most likely smaller scale lol
If we all we're doing our own things (like playing online, watching videos, streaming etc.) there was certainly some lag, however most of the bigger games we played locally therefore it wasn't an issue. If you need a more in-depth answer I can help you get in contact with the Technical Coordinator!
It's not that we don't want girls there, it's just not exactly as easy to get them to come 😂. We've done quite a few of these and I wouldn't say they're the type of parties you go to to pickup girls at haha. But if you've got some female gamers who wanna go we'd gladly have them!

One day I'll get there, that's the dream!

imagin the internett speed he has wtf
While the internet is good, most games were played on a local network meaning internet speeds didn't really matter😉
LAN means they aren’t using the internet. They are all connected to each other.
