Lol...When Louise asked George if the reason he wouldn't hire Emily was because she was white, he said that was only half of the reason. When she asked what the other half of the reason was, he said because she wasn't black.

I agree with him on letting him think about it. I would never hire anyone on the spot in a situation like that. She would get a call in the morning, maybe later that afternoon, and yes, with that many years experience, she would get the manager's position. However, George and Louise are the owners, they need to discuss it, and black, white, woman, none of that would matter. FIVE YEARS!!! Make her the manager!!

@@MrRJMGREEN George said that he was obligated to give that position to a black man, because he said if he didn't do it, who would? Back then, black folks barely got hired for any job, must less a good position like that.
