It works. When we were little,my mom used to get soap scraps which we melt in water hot and allow to chill in a bigger bucket. It ends up foaming very well even without adding so much ingredients like ones she just added
The narrator said to also add detergent, then later it was suggested that the new soap made could also be used for showering. Most laundry detergent has harsh chemicals in it, even if the brand used doesn't, it's not healthy to soap up and shower the body with laundry detergent.
I try it today, but I didn't put powdered soap in it. I put macadamia oil, shea butter and other things in it to make it more moisturizing than the original soap 😂 Thank you for the video 👍♥️

What is shown in this video is milled soap, as you real soapers know, not real soap making. The soap is multiplied in volume because it is now just full of water, so softer and will break down faster than the soap they started with, so no money really saved.
Not even close. This is not milled soap. People mislabel what milled soap is when they starting labeling rebatched soaps as "hand-milled". It's nowhere close to the same thing as milled soap. Milled soap is soap that has been shredded and squeezed out its moisture content after initial production of the soap, then force pressed under heavy pressure into a hard bar. Usually this process happens about 1-3 times to extract as much moisture as possible from the soap, until all you are left with is an extremely hard bar of soap that has been pressed into its final shape. Milled soap is real soapmaking, because REAL milled soap is only possible in a heavy-duty commercial-grade machinery. Rebatched soap can be real soapmaking, granted, anyone can rebatch soap scraps, even a soapmaker. Who's to say that a soapmaker who rebatches a failed soap, isn't "making real soap"? What is shown in this video is neither milled soap nor rebatched soap. ❌️ The amount of water used is maybe 20x more volume (if not more) than what you would use for a rebatch. You use very little liquid in a rebatch. What is shown in this video is just wasteful garbage info, because as you said, it's now filled with so much water content that it will dissolve very easy now. But it is NOT milled soap, nor is it proper rebatched soap.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I've been making my own beauty products for years and love the results. I'm back in Africa now and getting all my ingredients is so much easier. Lol.
I thought you were expanding to make liquid soap for multiple bathrooms I would rather do that. With that said you could do without some of the items you used. Like powdered detergent, glycerin, sugar; you could leave in the vinegar. Liquid soap works better, less mess around the sink. Thank you for your suggestion.
That's exactly what I thought. In fact I got the idea. I have many beautiful soap bars. I'll make it into hand soap. I was going to give them away, now I won't. So this video helped me with my own idea. Thanks.
I don’t go through that process. Hand soap that has gotten down to small pieces I just put in a jar of water or make into small pieces and put in a bottle to make liquid soap. No need for all that process.goes right back into pump bottle.
SMH. As a soapmaker, I'm not sure what's happening here. Dramatically water down some soap (of unknown origin and composition), then add some powdered soap (again, unknown composition), sugar, and vinegar. I think most people who try this will end up with a yucky liquid mess. And, if there was no glycerin in either of the soaps you dissolved, then there won't be any glycerin in this finished product. Glycerin is naturally formed when making lye-based soaps.
@@DodieSa I've seen a lot of things represented as soap-making that are not even close. Ultimately, if someone finds something that works for them, then I guess that's all that matters. I make soap 🧼 From scratch, sorry to say but your better off with the original bar of soap, because what you did was loaded the soap with so much water until it's very soft 🍦 soap and in return the block of soap that you melted down may seem like a lot but in reality the minute those slices of soap hit the water they are going to desolve faster than cotton candy 🍭 because it's full of water and too soft

I'm guessing that u can add other ingredients and leave out some and have made more bars of soap than u started with accustomed to ur skin type. Thank u for the tip xo ❤
Sorry, but all you'd be doing is making watered down soap that will dissolve very fast when put in water. Soapmakers have to wait weeks before selling homemade soaps, to give time for water to evaporate out of the soap. All this video did was add tons more water (more than what was initially evaporated out) back into the soap. This will not yield a lasting bar. It will dissolve at a much faster rate than the original bar would have.
When I was young, my mom used to save little odds and ends of soap bars. She would heat them and smash them into a soap mold. We have multi colored soap 😅😅. But it worked. Much easier than this.
You can just slip the last slivers of soap into a small net bag....I used the netcwrapping that came off a 3 pack of steel wool...or any little net bag. I threaded a thin dress-shoe shoelace through the netting. Gave it a half-tie....then tied the ends of the laces on a bow...so there was a long loop between the bag and the bow....hung it on an S hook in. The shower....works a charm.....did this as hubby would only use 2/3 of a bar of soap and chuck the heel of the soap in the dish at the sink and get out a new bar....drove me crazy, as we are on fixed income and cannot waste supplies due to low income....so now...with his little net bag...acts like a bit of a loofah....and he uses the whole darn bar of soap now... no waste. I had previously tried to use them to make liquid soap and failed, couldn't get them to liquify...tonnes of lumps ....so this has worked better for us ....wish I could add a picture...so simple and worked out great

@olajumoke...yes...most soaps are super concentrated...so unnecessary...most can be greatly diluted. For example, we use an empty dish soap bottle, with 20 or more parts water, with just a little dish soap for washing our dishes....it works absolutely perfectly....need about as much lather as she showed here...and for GREASY dishes we crack out the pure dish soap...but really only need a few drops directly on the sponge, and wash with our regular blend...works totally fine...so try with your body wash...but will make it watery ...so maybe shower with a loofah or loofah sponge and diluted body wash ? Give it a try...let us know ...
Add essential oils of your choice...just a few drops at a time...experiment with how strong you like it ...use less at first...it doesn't take much ...try lavender oil, or lemon oil and mint, or tea tree oil and mint....always use PURE essential oils, not synthetic
