The biggest issue with this gadget is that it requires you to stand up and "walk" to play video games. More seriously, these vr treadmills aren't there yet.
I have a Kat Walk, and them “being” there isn’t really the device, it’s the games on an individual basis. SkyrimVR is a fantastic experience on the Kat Walk, whereas Vader Immortal (the PCVR version) isn’t that great. The hardware isn’t the problem for the most part. Now backpedaling isn’t a good at all, so I’ll absolutely grant that, and strafing is fundamentally different from IRL strafing. Those points not withstanding, the problem is GAMES aren’t written with this form of locomotion as a forethought.
This is one of my favorite videos you've ever made! That treadmill is super cool but definitely seems a lot more flawed and compromised than they make it out to be haha
I got one of these last week during the holiday sale. C2+, 3 pairs of shoes, nexus, loco s, $100 steam card, extra warranty, lifetime yearly replacement of one pair of shoes, and free shipping for $1,189. waiting has sure paid off big time.
I love how you show the real struggles of setting up the treadmill with the Nexus it’s so helpful! I've been eyeing a KatVR treadmill but wasn’t sure about getting one without a PC. Your video clarified so much for me. I’d love a Quest 3 to explore its AR features and see how it transforms games I already own on Quest 2. Plus, being able to do chores and watch UA-cam at the same time sounds amazing! @NatAttackGaming
My favourite part about your content is always the aesthetic. Your colour grading looks so good. Do you think you'll have videos on the future about this?
Perhaps, but truthfully I don't like making content about color grading because I spent years watching everyone else's content about it instead of learning what actually worked for me haha
This is the best video on the KatwalkVR treadmill by far!! Really appreciate the video as I’ve been considering one. All of the other videos are sponsored. Great work 💪
guys is this the new best vr content creator???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
@@Not_mmm_gaming even though he’s dialed back content creation a lot over the past eight months, that title is hard to not give to ThillSeeker. If you think that’s just my opinion, you’re more than welcome to watch his Ready Player One video where he combined all current VR technologies together to make a Ready Player One experience. It was epic
I'm stevebartlettgta. My favorite part of the video is that you've done it I've time and are able to find problems and then solutions, rather than an initial problem and just writing the KATVR off. Also glad that you found a problem and fix for the Nexus, since I'm looking at buying a used KAT and that Nexus info factors in. I'm a little concerned as i do live in an apartment with picky neighbors. I don't have a vr headset at the moment. If i did, i would like to try writing and running my own vr game or experience, which is what I'm looking into now.
I love my Kat Walk... for the **right** games. Some of my favorite games to use my Kat Walk with are SkyrimVR (when modded), Brazen Blaze, VRChat (depending on the world), Batman Arkham Shadow, Myst. There's other games that work well enough too, but those are my favorites. The biggest difference I find with using the Kat Walk vs IRL walking isn't the slide-walking, it's that you have no inertia when you "walk". Ever; Single; Step, is 100% you pumping your legs, burning oxygen, and burning calories, inertia... not so much... EDITED: MODDED SkyrimVR is the generally viewed by most Kat Walkers are the best VR game to use with the Kat Walk My Kat Nexus works great, but it depends on the game. Batman Arkham Shadow is a very good game to use with the Kat Nexus Backpedaling is defiantly not good on the Kat Walk
Why has nobody made a 'hoverboard'? Like just a big joystick that you stand on and direct like a skateboard? Feels like it would get us a lot closer to more natural movement..
we need that ready player one treadmill with bungee straps that can hold you in the air so you can do flips. also im waiting for steam deckard to release the meta quest is a awful headset i will only use oled for vr
@ the software on quest 3 and 2 is horrible. I returned my quest after trying vr with it horrible software. Only headset with worst software is the pimax crystal and that’s sad considering meta is a billion dollar corporation.
I couldn't choose a single instance in the video that would be my favourite, though, considering it's a review on a product and a very thorough one at that, I appreciate you walking us through the calibration though, I don't think I'd get one, certainly not for now but I definitely see the appeal. But if they could figure out a way to fix all the issues you stated (especially the sound) then I'd really consider it. -Toni._.baboni
You need a meta quest 3s trust me it’s going to take a while before they add another budget headset I feel like there next headset will be in at least 1 year and it’s either gonna be more expensive or less expensive but I doubt it’s gonna be less anywais if your willing to wait a year for a vr that could be more expensive the quest 3s that is still a great choice do it but right now is just the best moment you could alwais maybe wait next year to see if the 3s price could go down but I think they will just remove the deals they do and do deals for there new headset they release (if they do) just like they did with quest 2 they stoped adding deals with them
My favorite part was about the problems the katwalk has, it is sold as the best, ultimate most futuristic vr experience with no limitations. And how you managed to fix them and do some workarounds and patches. If i had a metaquest i would diffently try some of the games i used to see on youtube 5 years ago, half life alex for sure, and try to mess with some ar(if possible) -yaxine_nr
@@thespenceryanmay it become better in the near future, at least i can try it like that, because i don't think i got the knowledge nor the tech to do all those workarounds
Cool video. Captures everything to know about this product. Bro had to re-learn walking 😂. Doesn't it feel like you're dragging something constantly tho? I'd use the meta quest to chill. Gaming on meta quest seems fun but I think ill wait for it to reach peak performance. For now tho i bet it really helps in other activities. kaushik_mohan.143
Man tech has reached so far. Imagine going from only being to talk to someone through a letter delivered by a pigeon to now communicating with others in another world entirely
top tier video my favourite part is when u show the final result of the gameplay, it really makes me want to have one of those man would use it with my friends😊 @nonogvalz cool vids

Haha yeah it's definitely more effort. Give it a couple years and I think it will be better
Check out Disney's VR treadmill is HoloTile, that's a game changer.
Hehe that's the main selling point, though. 😂😁
isnt that why we want it? i want to run in game while in a fight or crouch behind cover. what did you want to do just sit still?

@thespenceryan That's fair. Either way, it's definitely why I'm so hooked. I'm hoping this year I'll be able to improve on my colour grading skills
30min video on VR 🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌
I have to get one of these, sitting down PC gaming for 12hrs is a way of the past. I'm about to get in shape again.... well more in shape!

The nexxus definitely needs work. But yes, similar experience for me. Works sensational with compatible steam vr games. Hard wired is always best.

Do you test halo VR version?
@ I never got into the Halo series, wasn’t my cup of tea
Good one brother - i love picking up the vr here or there
But man i hate the thumbstick controller
Yeah, it feels out of place for something so futuristic
I think this needs a few years yet before it’s worth it. Plus Meta would need to support it for a future Quest
Yup exactly
What's your kdr in contractors?
30 minutes video? Let’s go! ✌️
My man 🤝 tried to keep it shorter but there’s just so much to this story haha

Fav part when u said you felt like a giraffe lmaooo, i would use the quest to watch your youtube videos in peace :)
i feel like fed ex in chino must have the worst sorting ever, any package ive gotten gets stuck in chino california for days lol
That sound would not only annoy me, but probably anyone you have on comms with you
I was worried about this but it actually doesn't get picked up. The quest does a good job noise canceling
@@thespenceryanqu’est 3 has noise canceling? Oh my god I did not know that
Put it in the yard. Your new empty space is big enough to move around in normally.
META pls do one walker like this but compatible with all games.....pls
how do I join your backstage bites broadcast channel?

Yeah it's pretty loud. I'm sure in a couple of years, these will be pretty cool 🔥
I like how more interactive these games are becoming. Never gamed with a vr so that would be a good experience. 👍 @MyFavoriteVegan
