The unusual fish is one of the best breadcrumb quests that they've ever done, I think. It's not often I'm left thinking "did that really just happen?" when I finish a questline!
“You ask why we do not leave, why we do not take root elsewhere among the stars. But the truth is this: the void is not a thing that travels. It is not a force that chooses. It is a state of being, a counterbalance to existence itself. We Old Gods did not come to Azeroth as invaders, nor did we choose to make this world our own. We were cast here, like seeds in the dark, to spread the influence of the void-to anchor it in creation. This is not a choice. It is our nature.” The visions grow darker, showing a time long past, when the Black Empire covered Azeroth, a world seething with chaos and primordial life. “The Titans call us aberrations, but we are not so different from them. They seek order; we bring change. They impose control; we sow freedom. Your curse of flesh, as you call it, was not an act of cruelty, but a gift-a gift to liberate you from their cold, unyielding design. The Titans sought to make you perfect, eternal, unchanging. But in perfection, there is no growth. No freedom. No life.” The images shift again, this time showing mortals-Earthen, Vrykul, and others-breaking free of their stone and steel forms, becoming beings of flesh and thought. “And yet, I will not deny the cost. We are not benevolent. The void consumes because it must. Chaos breeds conflict, and conflict breeds suffering. This, too, is our nature. But it is through this suffering that you have found your strength, your resolve. Do you not see? Without us, you would still be slaves to the Titans’ will, bound by their grand designs. Your freedom, your ability to choose your path, to question your fate-these things exist because of us.” -- Yogg Saron.
The Old Gods and their actions have led us to the revelation of the Titans' truth and brought us closer to freeing Azeroth from her prison. Without darkness, there can be no light. Perhaps those we have long seen as our enemies have, in fact, been our liberators. (Not sponsored by the Old Gods). *Frantically shoves void crystals and gold into a large sack, pausing only to mutter*, “This isn’t what it looks like… unless it looks like I’m about to disappear to a tropical island!"
I want to leave this prediction here: One day, we’ll make peace with the Old Gods, paving the way for new races, new classes, and perhaps even existing classes gaining the ability to wield the void or Old God energy. The Titans will be defeated or subdued, and Azeroth will awaken as a fusion of both light and void. Equilibrium.
@gonx9906 Not from the game-just something the void whispered during its coffee break. Either that, or I’m slowly becoming the Old Gods’ unpaid lore intern.
In the BfA raid, The Eternal Palace, the boss, Blackwater Behemoth, is from “depths unknown…so dark that not even the naga dare to venture into it..” There are also creatures that eat you if you swim over the dark water. Not sure if it’s the same abyss that the peculiar fish is from.
Wow, so many bots. On topic, worth also mentioning that the fish does seem to be fairly neutral in terms of motivations as it also says before it leaves something like "I hope we don't meet again. I would not want to see your body crushed". (forgot the exact statement)
its "let us not meet again, the thought of your drowned corpse displeases me" theres something kind of heartwarming about a simple act of compassion to help something that is frankly _extremely dangerous_ find its way home that it holds some level of favor for you to not want to see you come to harm some people have friends in high places, others have friends in low places, but my Nelf Hunter Main...she's got friends in weird places.
"the thought of your drowned corpse displeases me" I absolutely loved that line, even void-aligned entities have a level of empathy when shown compassion
Fun fact, you can use the priests mind vision spell at the moment he turns into the kraken, it gives a hell of a jumpscare and it allows you to see way beyond the shoreline until it despawns in the depths.
Nice video, though Archaedas probably had no special difficulty constructing N'zoth's prison as it was above water and a part of Kalimdor before The Sundering.
I don’t think so. N’zoth himself says he was bound beneath the waves for millennia before the Sundering even happens. The Titans just tell you it’s above ground.
Excellent video. Good to see some good old speculation beyond what everybody already expects, as is so common these days. Also love the underwater vibes.
The Fact you didn't use: "Its Surface Blazes Bright, Masking Shadows Below" -- Referring to Beledar keeping the Darkness of the Abyss at Bay, blows my mind and is fairly disappointing. If the Crystal goes dark, and stays dark. Whatever is in the Abyss beneath it has NOTHING stopping it from emerging once again. --- I think the Mural tells us what the Crystal is keeping away. --- Dare I say: The 5th Old God - K'tanth, N'Zoths only ally.
@@Javier-il1xi Are you Sure? -- Its called the Battle "FOR" K'tanth not "Of". -- There is nothing in the game referring to what K'tanth is or was. -- "For" opens many more possibilities. As in a Person, Place, or Thing -- "Battle FOR Azeroth" vs "Battle of Gettysburg" Just my opinion.
Additionally, there is an NPC named, Zal'kir the Chose who's title is "Maw of K'tanth" --- Which I would argue, that Zal'kir is K'tanth's Chosen Speaker or Harbinger who carreis the Blade of Katanth.
It's very clever how they show a firmament in Hallowfall with the light of Beledar high in the heavens below the ocean, set juxtaposed against the deep dark voidy waters below. Almost like it's acting as a barrier, albeit a failing one. We're very likely going to explore the undersea in some form during a later patch.
It's funny. I can go on a hiatus from WoW and not touch it for months. But it's videos like this one that always makes me want t log back on and play. That's how you know WoW has great lore.
Fun fact, if you try to swim down you are killed by something that attacks you, it's not fatigue and I was on druid swimming form so I had no breathing issues. If you fly in Beledar's direction you will hit a wall, nothing will attack you.
I think 11.2 is going to be the Rootlands, and maybe we find out that the roots are HOLDING Beledar in the roof of Hallowfall. End of the raid / start of midnight the roots are severed, causing Beledar to sink to the bottom, revealing K'tanth the forgotten old god. As of right now, we only know that Midnight will have Quel'Thalas, which is just one zone of the usual 4. it would be sick for the Midnight trailer to show Beledar sinking, then flash to the mural and illuminate the massive creature and forces of the void.
@@OLESILA Think about it, mr neltharion was combining essences in his lab, he had the heart...xal was sucking in old golds with the hearth...maybe essence/power, maybe more....we find parts in labs......mural seems newer then the other structures around it.
Concerning the dark counterpart of the citrin: in the real world if you treat amethysts (violet) with fire they turn into citrins. So I think the choice of using the mineral citrin for this particular ring is intentional and there will be very likely a dark (violet) counterpart.

Some how idk why but I get the feelithatte ( we will follow him down to the depths) meant as in xalatath even though it's she but could be him in disguise or she could be trying to awake bring him back(NZOTH) anyways. With all this lore I think in the end were gonna have to team up with the void to to protect azeroth from the titan amanthul. I'm not certain that what's in the abyss is necessarily aligned with the void. I think it could rather be unaligned. It kinda remind me of the leviathans in Mass Effect in that regard lol.
