- In this episode Charles discusses what a sway bar (aka anti sway bar) is. He utilizes a RTI (Ramp Travel Index) ramp to show the differences in suspension flex when disconnecting or removing the front and rear sway bars on his 2019 Polaris RZR Turbo S 4 seater. Charles goes over the various options for sway bars on your SXS or UTV including removal, quick disconnect pins, electronic disconnects, and sway bar adjustability.

Awesome video man. I like your content and I’ve never had this explained so clearly. Nice job!
Please do weekly uploads, this is great.
I’d like a review on your full cab enclosure.
Thank you. Our plan was to try and do them every week or two. Life currently is keeping that from happening this summer. We still have plenty of content plans. Hopefully this fall will allow us to get back after it. A video of the S and enclosure is already planned.
Thanks for the info....well done video. Clear and concise 🤙
I’ve been wondering about this for a while now. Pretty cool illustration. 👍🏻
Great video. Thanks for all the info!!
Really good video and I think I'm going to experiment with my UTV I want to have a middle point of more articulation but still stable at higher speeds should i remove the front first or the rear, which one has the most effect on suspension travel?
We're did you get the full cover on your rzr
That cover is killer , I've been thinking on having one made like it .
Thanks. You can wear a t shirt on the inside in the winter.
@@SXSGarage is there somewhere I could purchase a cover like that?
Is there any advantage to just removing the front one????
Disconnecting the sway bars would it be good idea to adjust the shocks from original set up? 2021 high lifter
Is there a video about your rzr? I need my clutch to be as responsive as yours.
I have a x3 max 4 seater would sway bars help me or hurt me on off camber rock crawling.
I had my front disconnected and the rear connected, went to crawl up on a rock on the driver side, and it rolled me over slowly on the passenger side. Trying to figure out what I did wrong besides bad approach lol. Ty
Great video. Off topic.. I see you have Zbroz up front and ORB arms in back. Why didn’t you go Zbroz all around?
Thank you. The zbroz trailing arm was a double stacked tube. So although they are nice and very strong, I think the ORB arms have just a little more ground clearance. I need all the clearance I can get for the rocks.
Just curious what is the flex like with front sway bar connected and rear disconnected. I do a lot of dunes and rock crawling, is there a lot of body roll when the fronts are just disconnected with the rear connected. I’m thinking of getting the Halo disconnect. Thanks
Thanks for the video. We do trail riding not rock crawing. Average speed 20 mpr except when on a road then up to 40 mpr. Do you recommend removing the front sway bar for my type of riding.
If you don't ever hit rock trails where you can benefit from the articulation, then you likely don't need to remove it. I do suggest you remove it at least once and see how it handles though. Some people prefer not running the front and having a little more roll. There is such a thing as too much sway bar/anti roll. The casual rider wouldn't likely notice the performance gains nearly as much changing out sway bars and rates.
Love your video...subscribed...will be looking for more.... quick question....new to the sxs world and looking to start some rock crawling...do you run a soft suspension or stiff when rock crawling?
That depends. If the rock sizes are small enough that I won't bottom out I prefer soft for a better ride. If I'm dropping off larger boulders or ledges then stiffer to prevent hitting the skid so hard. Also, stiff will give a little more ground clearance which is good for bigger rock areas or deeper snow.
So I am looking to take some winter trips this year, where did you get the side windows? And do you have an after market roll cage? Also what size tires
I made the roll cage and doors. I had a local upholsterer sew on the windows. 37x12.5r15 Interco Trxus m/t
@@SXSGarage Thanks you for replying,i will have to look into that
Also really liking my winch bumper.
Glad to hear it
Hey Charles, I have a 2 seat Turbo S. So if I remove one link the Sway bar end will hit my steering rod or lower A-arm?
Correct. You need to completely remove the front sway bar.
What is that cab enclosure on the rig in the video?
Custom made. You can go back through the Rock Ready UTV Instagram to see photos.
What about front connected and rear disconnected?
I've never ran with only the front connected.
What bumper are you running?
It's a winch bumper rockreadyutv.com
What about bottoming out your front shocks at full extension on the front with sway bars disconnected? I can hear mine thump all the time. Can’t be good on them.
You can have that same sound whether you have a sway bar or not. If you have a sway bar on it will typically reduce the amount simply because both tires would need to be off the ground. Like hitting a jump or large whoops in the desert. No, it's not good on the shock to go to full extension with a lot of force. Shocks have internal bump stops to prevent damage in stock applications. That "should" be enough but it's not always. Especially once you add large, heavy tires. That is where limit straps come in. They can be used to prevent damage to the shock (regardless of sway bars) as well as limit suspension travel that could damage other components such as cv joints in lifted applications. We will have a video about limit straps in the near future.
Dumb question maybe but are you rock ready utv?
No such thing! SXS Garage is made by Charles (owner of Rock Ready UTV and who is in this video) and Tony.
Awesome you should do a video on the pack out mount for the turbo s. Simple product but a good video on it would be killer
@@JMSynthetics it's on our to do list already😉
Subscribe. Great info
Awesome. Thank you.
I will disconnect mines for a Sunday ride lest see how works on the rocky trail.
Give it a try for sure.
Anti sway bar
Although that is the technical term I was taught originally many years ago they are commonly just referred to as sway bars anymore. Whichever works for you.
Your link to Halo is not the correct link...
They may have changed their website. I have updated it just now.
@@SXSGarage Just wanted to help you provide the correct info.
Yo....sxsblog also has a channel called sxsgarage. Just wanted to let you know....

I believe it's called sxsblog garage.
