Thanks for that, seems to be a fair and balanced review. The Commandos series got me hooked on these type of games, specially Commandos 2. I've only played the 63 days demo on PS5 (it's the level where you have to go through the train depot) and was incredibly frustrated by the clunky controls (combat mode for instance is completely broken so I never used it) and how difficult the game was at first. But then you start getting using to it and realize that guerrilla tactics work the best here - hit, run and hide. Went thru the entire demo twice, once on normal and then on hard, and ended up enjoying myself despite the game's many glitches and jankiness. And the asking price of $30 makes this an easy buy for me. If you enjoy these types of games there are some really good ones out there that can be had for practically nothing these days: Partisans 1941, War Mongrels (previous game by the same developer), Desperados, Shadow Tactics, Robin Hood and the already mentioned Commandos series (my favorite).

8:15 That is typically the issue with these sorts of games. There is a puzzle with one answer. Keep trying to figure it out. When complete move to the next puzzle. Less emphasis on stealth, and more emphasis on "puzzle" solving.
@@fudeezyy I love the stealth genre. It's just a little sad there's not more of them that allow flexibility in approach. There needs to be a challenge of some degree for there to be excitement. Not even the Thief trilogy is majorly flexible. While there are some alternative methods to do something, you'll see there's a lot of instances where you are forced to take a particular strategy to make progress. I do love me the Thief trilogy. I'm so old. 😜 I guess in a sense, stealth games are puzzle games, just one that focuses on the theme of being undetected. Not that that was an arguement 😅 Many puzzles do have just one method of being solved. I mean even games that provide a fake alternative could be thrown into the same boat. Fake alternative I mean like if you picked a lock picker over and social savant where one is breaking the lock, the other persuading a person to let you in. These options only existing because you decided to upgrade your character this way, a linear forced way to get through the game based on upgrade choices, as opposed to being allowed to do these options in any way because you want to. A game that kinda has both forced and optional would be the newer Prey game. If you don't accept the mutation upgrades you'll be forced to undertakes situations a particular way. If you do take those boosters, it opens up the possibilities to get creative. Another game I love, i actually need to find the name for it. Give me a second. It's been a while since I played it, but it's a pretty awesome one when it comes to choice.

Yes you do have to pay for the upgrades to be given the option to accomplish tasks a specific way, but you can get enough of them to open up a slew of options how to progress through the game. GL going through that game purely undetected. It is an acheivement.
Nice review. For those interested in these types of games, they released a similar game a few years ago called War Mongrels. Basically the same game, actually. I spent around 70 hours to get the platinum trophy and I enjoyed it very much, but I'd rather play this on a PC. Controls are very counter-intuitive and clunky, to the point you need to adjust how you hold the Dualsense, and I'm not even kidding. Some UI bugs here and there and some audio stutter, but it's all excused when they brought up such a compelling story. Other than that, 63 Days must be a great game if they're basically reusing assets from their first project. I will play it when I'm able. Cheers from Brazil!

Good review, I want to know more about the variety and diversity of the missions itself. What I see from your footage is that every mission seems to be in the city areas. I don’t see any forest areas like they had in War Mongrels
I played War Mongrels on ps4 and beat it. Great game. Controls took about an hour to get used to but then it was a blast. This game seems to have the same console controls so dont play War Mongrels on console. You will rage quit if this game was difficult
Solid review. I would personally advise that you make better use of scripting, giving yourself the opportunity to use clearer and more specific terminology over "paper thing"; or using a lot of conversational buffers like "honestly" or "basically".
Tried the demo....no thx. Idk why they make these games such a chore to play....can't just make it - L stick to move and x to place....nope , you gotta hold r1 , press triangle , then press o and hold L2 then press r1 again.....these devs think people wanna spend 15 minutes trying to figure out how to move one character from here to there.... Pass.
