Yes, Industry looking for lot more than certification.
    1) certifications
    2) Networking
    3) DevOps/SRE
    4)Soft skills
    5)Networking basics , database concepts
    6) Everyone is unique, be respectful.

Very true. The amount of skills listed in some job postings is just pure madness.

I'm preparing for SAA exam and aiming to sit for the exam in next 2/3 weeks. Preparing myself though your Digital Cloud tutorial which is indeed a great platform to learn , I want to know how I can do some project work to gain the industry real-time experience . I'm happy to work voluntarily too.

Already knew AWS certification alone won't get you an AWS job. It is a pity.

what is a 'cloud role'? these days cloud hosting is so easy computer science students can learn aws and the dev teams can just do both the jobs

Honestly having extra certifications helps, but not necessarily needed to land a high paying job. If you understand aws to the core, n able to explain and demonstrate it..I don't see why any company won't hire you, especially when in high demand

This is true, but for old dudes like myself looking for work with 25 years experience in heavy coding and RDS ( financial systems and reporting ) getting those certs may mean the difference between a look and a pass. You are actually encouraging me because the the whole could thing is coming easy to me. I used to connect to S3 , use redshift and I knew the code ran on an EC2 instance but to me it was just storage, DB and a linux box. I gotta say I'm having some fun consuming this AWS thing... maybe I'll color my beard to hide the grays, we'll see what happens.

@@BrucePain-_- It depends on the career path you'd like to take. Most people do the AWS Solutions Architect Associate next. The article we sent you contains helpful information.

There is some of that when you are just starting because companies want freshmen from universities. It is better to invest in a young person who is keen to learn.
      But everything is possible.
I've started at 35 but had to work for free for 6 months at a small start up before I land my first real job.

i’m ahead of a lot of others rn. I’m 18, Abt to take my solution architect tmrw (and pass it), and i start getting my cloud computing degree end of next month. I’m basically set for a job being im automatically ahead of anyone who did not get any degree (some fortune 100 companies won’t even look at u if u don’t have a degree). Im going to be living life by the time i’m 22😂
