when browsing for books to read, i always look for book reviews. that is why i bring you an october TBR that quickly turned into a very chatty video about the books i want to read this month, me making a TBR jar and cart, and losing my mind over some of the new book releases of 2024. booktube and tiktok have buzzed about these books… let’s see if i’ll enjoy them! i hope you guys enjoy this one and come out with one more book to add to your TBR and some good book recommendations for 2024!

i read gild back in august and ended up not only finishing it in one day, but i also finished the second book as well that same day. i've never read two books in one day before! (not counting graphic novels of course) i then read books 3-5 within a week and book 6 a month later when it was released. love this series, love the characters, especially the love interest. some unique and interesting magic powers. i really hope you'll enjoy this series!
This is going to be my first full month being into reading and my plan for this month is to read The Hunger Games series.

I still really want to read Kim Ji Young. I was living in Korea at the time this book started to get big, and I still remember reading all these articles about men in the country who were saying "I'd never date a woman who said she read this book." The trash basically took itself out.
aaahhh, i wish i had the money to regularly buy enough books to have enough on my physical tbr in order to actually make a tbr prompt jar 😭 havent even started uni yet so itll be a while until i have actual Adult Money™to go EXTENSIVELY bookshopping

I have Frankenstein on my October TBR too! (I used a spinning wheel about a month ago to put it onto my TBR)…so when it came up for you, that was a little freaky
i loooooove the Plated Prisoner series! A good slow burn with actual good plot and is consistent throughout all 6 books!
Also book 1 doesn’t have any romance, you don’t meet the MMC until the very end of book 1. Book 1 is hard to read at times but if you love a book where our MFC goes through trauma and grows throughout the series into a strong badass bitch, you’ll love this series. 🦴

I do plan to read Hate List by Jennifer Brown as my main October read. I'll be reading the other books I have in my on-campus apartment, but Hate List is the main focus (other than ACOMAF and Clockwork Angel) for October. And Happy Birthday month🎉🎊!!

Your view on Halloween is the same as ours here in Sweden. Some people have fun with it, there are middle school discos with halloween theme etc, but it doesn't overflow the stores.

I am doing Becca and the books Spookopoly and have read 2 books so far: The Very secret sociely of witches by Sangu Mandanna and Alice by Christina Henry. I also have a TBR vet going that I am reading slow: Braidning Sweetgrass.
Later today I am rolling the dice for my next 2 or three reads.
You should really like spinning silver, but uprooted was a total dud for me. They’re about the same page count, but I felt like uprooted could’ve been shortened by 100 pages easily and still had the same storyline and not miss a thing. Spinning silver loved every moment.
After mile high I said will not pick a book by Liz Tomforde again but everytime you talk about this series I ask myself if she can be any good?🤣 Also as a Colombian we share the winter is just wet no snow for us 🙃🦴

Look into Kathleen Brooks if you like romance/mystery/suspense/small town I’ve read all her books except her adventure series I’d say they are mostly different couples except the newest series and the moonshine hollow series

I love the Plated Prisoner series, but it’s kinda dark (in the first book especially) and a huge slow burn. It’s pretty similar to ACOTAR in a few ways so I am very curious to see how you’ll feel about it, especially after book one. 🦴🦴
