It was 38 years ago that Carl Sagan sat in front of a US congress committee and told them exactly what was going to happen if they didn't act now, at the time I was 3 years old and if I had to guess, Brian probably wasn't even born yet. That is quite literally my entire life ago that scientists recognised this as an issue (and remember, Sagan was an astronomer not a climatologist) and all that happened was absolutely nothing. Now we're at the breaking point, if they had listened to Sagan in 1985 then we could have dealt with this issue long ago and for far cheaper than its going to cost now. Instead we have big oil and gas virtue signalling and trying to pass the buck onto us, like we're the ones causing the problem. No, ordinary people recycling and reducing their carbon footprint is not going to change anything when you guys pump out the vast majority of the carbon and dump chemicals and plastic straight into the oceans. They're the problem and unfortunately, until they're literally dragged into submission this planet is doomed.
You’re 100% correct. Information; even if we had started when Sagan stated that important and essential Scientific Facts.. it would have taken 30-40 years(then) to at least halt some of the damage. Scientists have just announced that the Ocean Global Current system is slowing down… to eventually stopping. The last time that happened the Earth experienced an Ice Age. Also; if our Oceans keep warming and never cooling off enough degrees; all our Phytoplankton will not be able to survive; they produce 88% of our Oxygen… combine the Amazon Jungle deforestation we are in big trouble(Filtration not working).

As someone who comes from the Caribbean islands and visited home this year things are definitely not alright. The kelp forests are dying at alarming rates to the point where they have to use bulldozers to scoop up hundreds of pounds of dead seaweed off of beaches daily. And the ocean temperatures have been the warmest I’ve ever experienced in my 22 years of going back home. I literally went for a dip to escape the heat and the water was as warm as a hot bath 🤢 gross. Deny climate change all you want but for the first time ever I have personally experienced the issues that they’re talking about.

In my state, Ohio, the state charges an additional fee of $100 . That is after the taxes and fees. They’re trying to discourage people from buying EVs. We need to vote the Reps out. I’ve had enough of their criminal actions.

Actually, that’s not even close to being true. Most of the politicians on the Right are intelligent, just like most of the politicians on the Left. You have to be in order to make it. Some people on both sides get lucky and win because their opposition was poor for whatever reason. They’re not good, but they were believed to be better than the other candidates. That’s how you get an MTG, Boebert, Fetterman, or Warnock.
As a moderate conservative Republican and a Sheriff’s Lieutenant, I interact with many politicians as well as the rank and file that visit my part of the country. Many of them are intelligent to highly intelligent.
It is never a good idea to dismiss your chosen opposition as if they’re stupid. Most of them are not.
