- This is a video showing the hastily done process of replacing a Chinese knock off carb with a genuine Yamaha OEM replacement. The oil injection hose is also replaced in the process at about 4:30.

Great video sir!! I had to totally rebuild my son pw80 the engine locked up on us. I sent the crank off had it rebuilt then wiseco piston had the head shaved 20over everything else all Yamaha parts waiting on carb rebuild kit now and then we get to try to start it. So just checking in to see what’s in front of me!!Thanks
You are very welcome! Happy to help and glad it puts you ahead
Looking at that Chinese carb, the nipple on the front were the pod filter bolts on looks to me like the oil input line.
I think it is. That's why I'm actually watching this trying to figure out.
Great video!
Thanks!
Very helpful video, thankyou.
You’re very welcome. Thank you
Great video! I would like to replace the oil injector line like you did on the video, where did you get the new yellow transparent tube? What size should I get? Thanks much!
Hello! I cannot remember the exact size. I purchased this kit for less than $10 which is less than buying the OEM hose and you're set for life if you need fuel lines. Ha ha.

Mines always ran the best with the stock airbox installed
It seems to have similar performance... I don't see any real noticeable difference anymore
Me too. And those filters just look like some piece of crap a kid put on there for better performance.
That's because the Chinese version of the PW80 is a 4 stroke and not a 2 stroke. its called a flywing
That’s awesome. Never knew that
At this point it don't matter, but for ppl reading this all he had to do was adjust the float..... just saying
You are correct
If you eliminate that oil injection system and just mix the gas with the mix oil...you'll get more power and your bike won't get damage couse sometimes them system oil doesn't flow as it will with it mix on the gas.. if anyone eliminates make sure you put an injection block off plate and cover it. Look into it and see what I'm talking about..
Great advice! Thanks!!
@@kevinon4wheels No problem.
The power gain is very little.. that oil injection system is very good. Besides mixing gas sucks!
I installed oil injection block off kit. Do I leave the 2 vents on the right side open?
What air filter is that?
Sir, I want to install that small carburetor jet, it's very difficult.
Good god man
How does the choke work mine came with a 1 to 2 Cable and a extra port on the back of the carb trying to put this on a motorized bicycle motor but have extra pors and some crazy throttle choke cable in one
Hey thanks for the video, what size oil line was it? Cant seem to find out!
I had no idea on the specific size, so I purchased this multi kit on Amazon and one of them did the trick. www.amazon.com/HIPA-4-Feet-Long-Craftman-Chainsaw-Trimmer/dp/B0119NJSN6/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=yellow+fuel+line+assortment&qid=1617215762&sr=8-2
Hey how long did it take for the oil line to fill?
Hello. No more than a few minutes. Less than 3 or 4 if I remember. I used 50:1 in the tank to play it safe
Was that a vent tube on top of the carb?
Yes. Afterwards a hose was attached to it and ran down
Do you need to run the hose? Did it attach to anything
petemannarino it isn’t necessary. But it can take on water or mud if there isn’t a downward hose installed. All you have to do is run it up then down near the swing arm. Should be good to go
I'm having an issue when I shake the bike around it wants to quit . And watching your video my carb also is missing the line there . I have a feeling it is suposed to come from somewhere or be blocked off so there can be no vacuum at least. I'm thinking when I shake my bike the air bypasses threw ther right into my main jet and I get bog lack of fuel ? I tried setting my fuel bowl height now I'm thinking that tube should be there or capped off ?
hahahaha just rebuilding my sons after a complete overhaul and couldnt remember for the life of me what went there.... Thats why im here.... Thanks for clearing it up....
To the uploader... Great vid, what was your rattle you were searching for when you rtestarted it ?
Cheers.
Great video! I had good luck with our China carb. It had the oil injection nipple.. I was watching this video because I need to replace the oil injection line because ours was too short and brittle. What size is that oil line? 2mm inside? 5mm outside?. Thanks.
I am watching for the same reason.
I know it's probably a stupid question but there are two nipples on the side of the carberator that you can see. On is bigger and for the fuel and one is smaller. What does the smaller one do
Hello. It’s a good question. We didn’t do anything with them. We wrote them off as vent tubes since they didn’t channel anywhere important. I think I’ve seen these carbs covered in hoses looking like an octopus before.
What if there is not a oil line to my carb but I still have my injector what do I do
Blowsion 01-03-812 Oil Injection Block-Off Plate will fix that
Just make sure you mix your fuel and oil!
What does the airbox do and do u need to have it?
The air box housed the stock air filter. You need it unless you run pod filters directly on the carb
@@kevinon4wheels thanks
I just replaced mine and i still have fuel dumping from overflow line what does this mean
Believe it or not this new OEM is doing the same now. I’m going to check to make sure the float needle is seating properly and then make an adjustment to the float so it shuts off the fuel sooner
What did you do in between when it wouldn't run after installing and after a cut in filming it started perfect? Something missing?
Waited about 10 minutes, then kicked it a few dozen more times and has been good ever since
Hey I need a oil injection hose (preferably on Amazon) in the video it’s yellow and I can’t find one, anyone know anything
Hello. I have the link to the oil and fuel lines in the description
I can't get an OEM carb through my yamaha dealer or on the web - pretty much gone I'd say. What problems did you run into with the Chinese carb?
The float never stopped leaking no matter what

Thank you
Hey how much did the carb cost ?
About $80. It was new old stock though. Figure $100 or less for something OEM and freshly manufactured
@@kevinon4wheels I sid same with my sons pw80 and chinese carbs isn't working for me .. Where or what site did u get the OEM carb? Pls help
