Thanks for your interesting videos where you use your Pipestrel Virus SW in mapping work und I wish you good luck in all your work.
Nice to see a torque wrench used properly. Slow and smooth without any jerks.
I enjoy your videos with the quick "everyday life" inserts. Keep em coming.
I've been trying to slip in a Virus demo flight but having trouble syncing schedules with sales rep. Oh well, can't afford one anyway.
one of the best aviation channel ,thanks bro
Руки на месте у мужика!
congrats on the new baby!
Nice vid, thanks for posting it!
Good and informative vid.
Thanks!
What was the Bad news, I seem to have missed it? Are these Virus & Sinus all 100% Factory Built? Thumbs up for Comedy, Repairs in a SNAP!

Love that bird!!!
Love the opening scene! Real life!
This might go without saying, but I like to keep a fire extinguisher around anytime I have fuel puddles lying around! What ended up happening with the exhaust? Seems like some pretty serious defects.
Great vid are those steel cap spark plugs ? Been checking these planes out I like the Sinus flex actually I like all there planes but I leaning toward the Sinus .
Nice work. Is the tail wheel the original one?
Actually, NO, you don't smear oil on the oil filter seal. Dow Corning DC-4 Compound is used for the oil filter gasket. Never stand in line with the prop. In front or behind, but never cradle it in your lap. K&N Filters have a recharge kit & a specific procedure to clean. You don't just add oil.
Can this baby land on a 300m runway using the air brakes?
What about using a bucket?
The use of RTV 'gasket maker' near the exhaust in inappropriate at best; RTV is not designed for 1200+ degree F of the exhaust; and may even become flammable.
If one thing is seen over and over again is inexperienced mechanics using RTV in places were it shouldn't be; one was fatal when used in an RV-6 fuel lines; which caused fuel starvation and crash.
Is it toasty in the cabin or do you get cold?
It’s cold. Pipistrel has a winter engine kit for Canadians but the shroud only covers about 1/4 of the muffler. I need to get someone to build me a full shroud then I would have solid cabin heat.
Hi nice video,,, @ 922 ,why not use a stainless steel hose clamp to hold the sensor in place? it was used for years on the old 582 and many more engines,it was trouble free, you need to only make a slight mod on the clamp hole itself. ty post more vides
Are you tempted to try some big boy tires? Incidentally does the manual warn against shock landings in consideration of possible composite cracks?
I am tempted but I use this plane for work not so much fun, don't really want to be taking it off road, maybe will do it down the road if I have two of them. No warning in manual against shock landings
Surprisingly significant problem for such a young plane.
Agreed
What do those springs do btw?
@@DanFrederiksen the springs hold the joints closed but still allow movement so that cracking is minimised. The better option is the short flex hoses rather than ball couplings and springs. Imo
@@DarrylZubot was the exhaust actually collapsed? it wasn't just built that way? bizarre that could happen. How could it? do you remember going from full throttle to turning off the engine repeatedly? most peculiar failures.
@@DanFrederiksen Yes it was collapsed. This is common issue for this aircraft, the spring tension is not in a good spot, puts too much pressure in the bends, and collapses the exhaust when it ages. I've had to replace several exhaust pieces now at 1000hrs on aircraft.
Your wife did NOT look too happy with you... I hope that that worked out OK? and that the hanger doesn't turn into your dog house ;-)
What do you think caused your exhaust to collapse like that?...
Mason Hicks haha she’s fine with it i got her permission. It’s due to the springs pressure. This is version 2 exhaust, version one had this problem but worse as they put the spring connections in the corners of the exhaust, the spring pressure is too great and causes corners to collapse in when exhaust is hot. I guess they still need to work out the bugs in version 2 exhaust
How much does Kit cost?
Email me and I can send you order form
@@DarrylZubot I wrote to you
Hey .
I'm flying to Husky right now, but the price of an hour of flight and maintenance is quite expensive.
What is your experience if you fly 200 hours a year + -?
How much is the service and who can do it? (Need a mechanic with a certificate of 145?)
How to renew my airworthiness certificate?

😂. Gasket maker to hold the temp probe in place? I dont think thats a good idea. My heart skipped a beat watching you use the torque wrench. That tool looked too large to use for just 14 Ft#. (177#in). Torque wrenches are not accurate at the far ends of the scale. And on spark plugs, I dont trust click type wrenches when torquing on aluminum heads. That mistake can cost you big if you strip the treads. The beam type is better. I know, we all have opinions. I cant wait until I can buy a Pipistrel. Love the plane, I’m jealous. 😊
This guy doesn't answer many questions so not going subscribe. Too bad, I am going get Rotax Powdered Trike so it would have been nice to learn more.
What would you like to know?
Do you ever use STOL landing techniques? If so, what is your shortest landing?
