I really wish all people would be open minded. These guys are so innocent to be oppressed just because of love.
The film is breathtaking: such a beautiful love, such a complex social setting, such a sad story. But love is stronger than darkness.
I saw this movie more than a year ago. I then saw Shtisel on NetFlix and did not even realise that it was Michael Aloni in both roles. Wonderful actor. He's now on my list of actors whose work I keep on my radar. Another great video with music that perfectly matches the story.

It's so heartbreaking with this hidden love, love in the Shadows, the Israeli Arab storyline is really touching
I agree Manuel, it is especially sad, those who come up against this wall of division, separation of true love and the heartbreak gay Arab/Israeli men often have to endure. This video is one bold attempt to restore hope in this often bleak situation.

Very touching story. No religions, no borders just love. I hope they give us a freedom even in the strict country because we just love passionately. Its been a 6 months I stay in UAE but theres no a person who love me thoroughly because I know its not allowed from here though you both fight for their love but at the same time he left you. I hope its not just about that the way they treat the people even gays cause we are equal.

Wow what a video, I was so lost in it that , when video ends it feels as I woke up from my sleep.
It is 20.39pm here in UK, and the video played all the way through perfectly, and it made me cry too! And I still feel tearful as I type this, and so I keep making mistakes!
The story is so sad and the oppression of gays so cruel! Yet the two guys are just so beautiful and loving, and their relationship so full of love and beauty, showing that for those that are gay, this is truly the will of God, however you consider him to be or not to be etc...
I am still tearful oh handsome RexRed, this has touched me on so many levels.

Well said, Brian. I personally think men are able to show a greater range of emotions (from being very tender to being very aggressive), which makes men all the more special and love between men therefore very epic!
I think you sum up why I am somewhat addicted to this genre of movies. I was trying to explain it to a friend recently and I had difficulty finding the words to express myself. Men are so often portrayed in straight cinema with a type of machismo that I find absent in gay film, to my pleasure. I love seeing men vulnerable and in love and being loved and giving love with the passion that sets the screen on fire in gay films. As a straight woman, I wish that was more present in M/F relationships in film and in real life.

Even women in film are made out to be tough and always outsiders and lacking tenderness. This is what the world defines as being strong. The tougher your skin the better the world thinks you are. Drinking away problems and smashing stuff is an acceptable way of resolving problems. The exact opposite is really the case. Superman, "the man of steel" was really a mild mannered softie who had no problem with crying in public. Softness is not weakness. It is those who can be tender and place themselves in loving and intimate situations that are the true superheroes we should admire. 💖

Roy's dad pulls a few strings with the Israeli government, and they drop all charges against Roy and release him. Roy's parents threaten to disown him if he tries to contact Nimir.
Roy quits his job in Israel and leaves for France anyway to look for Nimir, thereby losing his family's inheritance. Roy and Nimir reunite in France.
Nimir resumes his studies while Roy works for a law firm. After a few years, Nimir finally becomes a doctor, while Roy manages to set up his own law practice in France.
They both also get French citizenship.
And they are very happy together. : )

It is 20.14 pm here in England. Only,the last minute would play on this phone, and then on subsequent attempts it will just show the title picture, but will play the truly beautiful song, sung by the man with the beautiful voice. The two guys look very beautiful too.
