My favorite version of In the Evening is from the Page and Plant tour, I love the high pitched notes Jimmy added during the main riff, one octave higher (I think..)
FANTASTIC!!! I love that Strat! I got a maple neck Elite a few months back and it plays and sounds amazing!! Seeing the Stones in a few weeks too! Life is GOOOOT
You can hear echo/delay on live versions of this one, especially in the outro soloing. I assume it's the Echoplex. In fact, I think his delay setting on this one was a little too long, it gets hard to hear what he's playing.
Wow ! Taking that drink from a bottle before the song really takes me back ! Anyway, I am surprised with myself for not bringing this up before, but, I have noticed that you always do a little tune up at the beginning of the videos. I have thought about getting some Big Bends Nut Sauce, but, for now, I just take a pencil and draw about a 2 inch circle, over and over, completely filling it in, and then using a razor blade to scrape the graphite into a little pile, and then I add a little vaseline to that pile and mix it thoroughly. It comes out to a very dark grey material that is more loose than vaseline alone, and it works well ! I put it in all of my nuts ! 🤣 I also put it on all of my saddles. It helps keep the strings in tune, and in my opinion, makes the guitar play better. I just thought that I would pass that along to you and your Subscribers ! Thanks, James, For All That You Do !
Nobody wants to murder the bar with those complete down and release dives Pagey did. Too bad Pagey couldn't do the studio fuzz solo in the middle section instead of that (IMHO) too repeteitive synth solo melody.. WELL DONE though. Mannheim is a pretty good show overall. And think how many guitarists would have played power chords on the riff!
LOVE IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR
This mans gain goes beyond 11. Fabulous cover partner!

Any tips on how to do it without a trem bar (apart from ‘buy a Strat’)?
Loved the lesson btw, managed to pretty much nail it first go.😊👍🙏
Well, you could fret the note one fret up, starting on an up bend, then let it go downward. But that would sound terrible. :)
…I often wonder if this guitar riff inspired Billy Squire to write Lonely Is The Night. What do y’all think?
That did cross my mind actually....
Man you tackle some tough shit to me....
Where did you get that shirt from? Cant find it on the Internet
Are you playing an American strat
Yes, that’s an American Standard, early 2000’s, I think.
Drinking what?
Jim Blackwell Dr. Pepper. It’s vile.
Ok thanks
