12 years old living in Los Angeles, 1977. A Dodger fan, Hated the Yankees and still do. But? That was the first GREAT Sports act I ever saw. Its still my favorite. I am a Reggie Jackson fan. Mr. October. Even his candy bar was good.

Reggie Jacksoni is the only player, in baseball history, to win the World Series MVP with two different teams. The '73 A's and the '77 Yankees a tremendous postseason clutch performer.

Four consecutive HRs on four swings. He'd homered on his last swing in the prior game, then walked on four pitches prior to his trifecta.

Great video. One omission - steal of home in ALCS against Detroit 1972 in deciding game 5 - scored but broke his leg and missed A's WS. It was cool to see all the famous blasts though!

I've always been loyal to the closest team to me & as a kid in the 70's we lived east of Cleveland & it was not easy. But as an individual player it's ok to be a fan of players on other teams & in the 70's Reggie was my baseball Hero.

My favorite athlete of all time!! Reggie was amazing. I was 12 when he came back to Yankee Stadium as an Angel. My brother and I watched together and cheered so loud when he hit that upper deck home run off of Guidry. Steinbrenner had insulted him as he traded him and we were so happy he got his revenge with that home run.

  • @TheBatugan77

5:48... I was there. Reggie homered off Reggie Cleveland to walk it off in the 9th. Jackaon had reached over the RF wall to pull back a Red Sox HR earlier, then broke up a scoreless tie in the 9th to win 2-0. The late great Thurman Munson was on first.

The most impressive homerun I have ever seen was Reggie Jackson in the 1971 MLB All-Star when he played for the As. The game was played in Detroit. I was 12 and was a huge fan of Reggie and baseball. He hit the ball off a transformer on the top of Tiger Stadium. If it had not hit the transformer it might have gone another 100 feet. Some experts say it might have gone 550 feet or more if it had not hit the transformer. His third homerun vs Dodgers that landed in covered seats was also very impressive.

You know I just want to say something I’m tired of 2023 and I’ll tell you why when I was a little boy I was a tremendous Yankee fan now I don’t care because everything is about money because I’m older now and I understand more and also when I was a little kid my favorite player was Reggie Jackson and a few other Yankees but mainly Reggie Jackson now I think Reggie is half Spanish and half black but in my eyes when I was a kid he was a Yankee my point is I feel nowadays everything is about race and I feel it’s involved in sports more now than then through my eyes because I was just a little kid rooting for my team and I didn’t see color and sports back then there wasn’t gay night there wasn’t this night it was just sports at least it was through my eyes and now in the year 2023 I can barely watch it I do feel baseball does a pretty good job with race but the NFL the NBA is constantly talking about race and politics sports is supposed to be a situation where you can relax and just watch a game from the daily grind of life and the daily grind of hardship This is just my opinion I am just one person and this is my honest opinion that’s all

His career batting average was .262, but I wonder what his batting average was from the 7th inning on. His World Series and playoff exploits notwithstanding, even during the regular season, he was one of the most feared hitters in late-game situations to ever play the game.
