This doctor gives a baby a shot by distracting him with a goofy song:

I heard Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide Australia several years ago did active research on distraction methods. They gave children virtual reality head gear in an attempt to distract them from agonies during extremely painful & frequent procedures of removing bandaging plus the organic matter that was adhered to it, from burns & skin graft sights. Apparently it was incredibly successful. I believe that the gaming genre was found to be most effective. 💜

This is cool and I’m not complaining. I’m glad the public finally noticed. As a vet who’s been in practice for over twenty years, though, I have to say this is not new.
Many of us have been using peanut butter or cheese on the wall for years. In fact, several companies make rubber sticky pads with waffles in them that we fill with cheese, stick it to the wall, and do all sorts of things from injections to nail trims and even drawing blood.

I had a dog once who was diabetic and I had to give him 2 insulin shots per day. Because of his restricted diet I couldn't give him treats but just gave him a piece of his kibble when he sat for a shot. He did really well with them for 2 years! Still miss that little guy.

I’m lucky that my sweet girl takes shots really well without these techniques, but for those highly anxious doggos who really don’t like being poked & prodded, this is absolutely genius! Peanuts story dog
This hasn’t helped at all. My 8 & 1/2 year old miniature poodle went from normal self to not walking at all and laying all day on her side in bed. She needs help for everything but can drink water and eat. I’ve switched her to organic soft food, and joint support treats as well as antibiotics, steroids, and valley fever meds after they failed to tell me she had slight signs of it. Until watching her get worse for a week to 2 weeks from walking to not at all. Idk what to do to help her she’s been on the meds about 2-3 weeks now and little to no improvement they said it could be a multi neurological disorder they don’t know have suggested a 4k spinal tap and MRI for further diagnoses. I don’t have these funds and see no improvement but she’s all there cognitively, her hind leg goes stiff and one she’s been curling up and can straighten the front ones don’t seem to support her, she’s slightly standing now but collapses if I let go. She’s had 4 chiropractor adjustments and nothing has helped. Please if anyone has seen this before and has any ideas to get life back in her please help. I feel terrible for her and she’s all there otherwise. Its hand and foot with her and I don’t know what to do. Help 🙏

No they aren’t. They are safer than harnesses, head collars and flat collars combined when used properly. I’ve worked with my dogs intense pulling on the lead for 3 and a half years (basically 4 years). Tried every training method out there and tried a multitude of harnesses and collars. NONE worked. The prong collar was the only one that worked and they are 100% fine because it is used properly.

@@phetnhativong5925 Hi. Just telling you it's not really my fault I'm sometimes violent to animals. As soon as I tell you what my parents did to me, you will probably want to call the FBI. It's the same as mistreating a dog and it becoming aggresive and pose threat to humans. Have you ever been bitten by one? I think you already guessed what I mean by that.
