- Come along as we ride from the summit of Kirkwood Mountain Resort all the way back to the base village. Our journey starts with a ride up the legendary Wall triple lift which soars to the top of the resort where the only option to get down is extreme double black terrain with waist high moguls.
The wind was something else and our hearts were pumping as we dropped intoThe Wall however the snow was extremely soft and light making for excellent turns before heading down the perfectly groomed intermediate trail that lead us back to the base area.

They do not, the one we saw cruised past us like a rocket. It only stopped as it hit a bump and flipped.

Vail Resorts ruined Kirkwood. Zero investment into the infrastructure and ONLY brought MORE people. I guess every corporation has to have a bad redheaded step child. Vail doesn't contribute ANY money toward the maintenance and upkeep of the road in. From Highway 88 ALL the way in to the parking lots is maintained by the Kirkwood Community Association. They DID manage to bring power in from the states electrical grid , BUT the price for power sure didn't go DOWN. Passed off that expense to the valley homeowners too. Had an Epic pass for 20+ years. NO MORE. Vail and Vail Resorts SUCK! The great days of the 70's until Vail bought Kirkwood are what I'll remember best about Kirkwood. Awesome terrain! Awesome snow.! Awesome humbling wind! Those days are gone forever.
Yeah,but, The trails are still amazing. They can’t ruin that.
