I think on the inside of one of the barn doors put a wanted poster with a mirror and the crime be robbing post office boxes or something like that. Can't wait to see this finished.
Well lights and old timey music when you open the door to the birdhouse would be cool. Perhaps the combination can be given when the lights go on or as a part of the song.
This is cool. Great idea. I hit up thrift stores all the time with the same mission in mind. Got an idea to share to build in on your western theme. Hobby Lobby ( and other craft shops) carry cowboy figurines. How about turning this in to bank robbing themed cache with a gunfight in front and the robbers attempting to hold up the post office? Not sure if you might be a Red Redemption 2 fan, but I see a theme from that mixed with this. Or try to setup a scene from Back to the Future 3.
One year late, but I think that Vault Cache should have a puzzle to get into the vault! You could use wanted posters, where the rewards are the numbers for the code for the lock. $100 for a 1, $200 for a 2, etc. GREAT looking scene though! But yea, a puzzle would be the cherry on top. :) edit. Those wanted posters can show the faces of famous CO's, including yourself. ;)
It would also be cool if the "birdhouse" to get into had like "swinging" doors like Saloons used to have. What a great find! I used to get all my trackable hitch hikers at thrift stores!
Have you ever found something at a Thrift Store for a Cache?

That is a cool idea.
A wanted poster on the inside of the birdhouse door that gives clues to the combination could be very cool.
That's a wonderful find. Love the barn door idea. Needs a person or people sitting on the seat outside.
Yeah I was thinking of that too.
Awesome find. I was thinking of the lost letter of Butch Cassidy or Billy the Kid. Tumble weed, small bullet holes.
That sounds cool

Whoa! That's a cool find! I always look at random odd stuff while I am at thrift stores too!
They do estate sale cleanouts so never know what is going to come in.
What an awesome incredible find! I would be playing with it all day when I bought something this cool!
Yeah my son was trying to figure it out and he sat there for 20 min or more. Then I told him the combination in on the bottom.

Those are great ideas. I had thought about the bank robbery but I like the Back to Future idea.
I was also going to suggest bank robbery. But a Back to the Future Easter egg would be super fun (like the Dolorean in the background or something
Yeah trying to figure out how that Easter egg would go in.
That is a great thrift store find!

I have one of those piggy banks!
