Florida Football: A Fall Preview

Prediction: 3-8. Wins against vs Miami, vs Samford, @ Mississippi State.
Expectations: High.
Florida fans: You got screwed for the next two years in terms of the schedule - as its by FAR the hardest in the country until further notice. After the bye week, the wheels fall off. Gus Malzahn will have the pleasure to send this program into a tailspin. Maybe, MAYBE they steal one other SEC game but otherwise I don't see it.
The first game against Miami might be the biggest "make or break" game next to USC @ LSU and NDSU @ Colorado. As the loser's season will turn upside down.
Now lets get to the positives. Florida returns Graham Mertz, Montrell Johnson, and Eugene Wilson III. 66% of its defense and a retooled defensive coaching staff. Graham is gonna have a better year - at least you hope, the offense in some of the games will click, and home vs key games like Ole Miss LSU and the key in state semi-rivalry games. And in all honesty, if they get at least 6 wins against P5 opponents, just rank them.
In the era of NIL and transfer portal, if Florida doesn't have a good year, you already know impatient entitled 4-5 star freshmen like Lagway are outta there - even IF Lagway knows he can and will start there next year. A 6-6 to 7-6 is a must.
