  • The weather is still allowing it so despite the late timing we're out with a bonus fall episode! And in this one we totally got fooled with the expectation of leeching/scudding in the shallows only to find chaoborus larvae (glassworms) on their mind! So what do we do?? Fish glassworms of course! :) This is a BC fall fly fishing combo you're not likely to see very often so check it out and see how we conquer this fly fisher dilemma ... :)

Appreciate that! We did the best we could with what we had but are stoked on the outcome and that you’re enjoying them! I mean I guess it is almost February! Thanks for the support! Cheers.

Did you stay in about 10' of water? How did you know they were there? Hard to mark them on the sounder in that depth. Thanks for sharing.

That day we caught them in 10ft right up to 3ft. We have covered how we find them in some previous videos so you might want to check them out. The usual sounder won’t get them but our hummingbird has a side scan that can so we typically use that early spring and late fall. Moving fish and knowing where they like to feed are a couple other ways to find them. Hope that helps but much more detail in the other episodes so check them out if ya haven’t. Cheers and tightlines.

Chaoborus Larvae ... cousin of the Chironomid. We call them glassworms because they are transparent/translucent.

Please stop posting videos. I'm a happily married man, father of 2 kids, ready to ditch my life here to go fish there.
