You’re putting the slotted bead on backwards, the slot goes to the rear of the hook.

If you’re float fishing, why not use a Centerpin reel? The line management on that fly reel set up looks painful!
Actually, we are using very small strike indicators, not like the much larger float we would use with a Center Pin when steelheading.

I use Midnight dubbing for the thorax and add some to the tail for extra flash. Will be tying one on an upcoming show
