Personally I use the setting that allows me to filter out lower temperatures and I set it to 19 celcius (during the winter) and I can see rabbits from 80 yards away and I can see cars on the road from 500m away!!

Have you ever tried using this while tracking a deer in the woods? Curious if after you shot from a stand right at dark if you could use it from your stand and pinpoint it.
Trey Gander I’ve used it in low light to locate deer in low light. But I wouldn’t take any illegal shots or any shots that wouldn’t be fair and a certain hit. It doesn’t attach to a weapon.
Can it be used while driving to prevent hitting deer or any other animals or pedestrians?
I don’t think so. It won’t go through the glass. It will only show the temperature of the glass.

Can you increase the color gradient at a narrower band? Make it bright for 4 or 5 degree variation?
No, that is one of the drawbacks to this. But is also about the cheapest on the market, you get what you pay for.

How well would it help in brush? Would it need line of sight to see it or would it pick up heat past brush? I don’t mean far but just 40 or 50 yards.

And what is that clicking sound?
I don't recall the model. The clicking sound is the unit adapting to the temperatures and the scale. Almost like a focus. It is a lot louder in the recording that it is in real life because the audit pick up is right next to it.

I'm not aware of any laws against their use.
