    I was curious about the engine braking. Thank you for showing that.

    The Teryx was my second choice, got a '23 Yamaha Wolverine X4 850 XT-R instead. Less noisy and more versatile for a little more $. No regrets.

      Yeah I hear the Yamaha is really good. I would like to try one of these days.

      What do you do for storage when you have 4 people on the X4? I had 4 people hunting, 3 backpacks, buddy heaters, chairs, guns....I would like to see how guys load up a Yamaha. Maybe a bed extender is the way to go?

      @MADAmechanical yes there is a bed extender but the viking is the way to go for that

    My 2017 T4LE just hit 3000mi this weekend and I had my first equipment failure.. the stock OEM battery. 7yrs on a battery is unreal. Shocked that yours doesn't have the adj steering column like my older 2017. Both my front seats adj too... only fwd/back but no recline. I would've paid extra for the seatbacks to adjust somewhat. My Trex isn't fancy but it's reliable as hell and I hang with the bigdog Rubicons and LandCruisers on 14,000 ft peaks in Colorado.. they even pull over and let us pass because we outpace them up and down hill. Great job Kawasaki.

    I have a 2014 teryx 4. Only Servie preformed no other issues. Canam and Polaris could learn some things from Kawasaki! I have a 2021 canam defender xmr. There’s just about always something wrong with it. Already put a fuel pump in it now it needs A arm bushings. A real money pit !

    I’m at 2600 km on my 2019 Teryx. Only issue ever was the 4 wheel drive actuator. It’s been a great machine, I take it all over the mountains, through muskeg and am constantly willow bashing. I service it religiously though, as I sometimes am close to 100km from my truck and never in cell service, and too far to walk. It’s loud, but liveable. I like the engine heat in the cab which some people complain about, but it’s generally cold when I’m out hunting so it doesn’t bother me. I have lots of time in Polaris Rangers and a bit in Honda Pioneers, I prefer the Teryx.
    I had to walk back once to get a booster, drained my battery winching out of a creek bed and then turned off the machine to glass some bears. Clearly it hadn’t run long enough to recharge the battery. Now I bring a nicole booster pack.

    I love my Teryx. Change the oil, add gas, pump the tires and GO!
    If you hate maintenance, this is the machine for you.
    It is unfortunately very freaking loud though. I have to take my foot off the accelerator to talk to the passengers. If they ever fix that, I'll buy it again lol

    I wish it had more power. We have a 2013 Teryx4 with the 750 and it has good power down low and in the mid range but falls off in the top end. Also, it is extremely loud inside the cockpit and can get warm on long rides. The gauge is really outdated and it doesn’t even have a Tach. The bed I feel is a big one as it holds a medium sized cooler and that is it. It is a great machine but even the newer models have the exact same problems. I think Kawasaki should completely redo the Teryx, like the new RMAX.

    • @BackcountryLife
      @BackcountryLife  Рік тому +1

      That’s actually what they should do for sure. Yeah it’s loud but the heat is the same in our Honda pioneer and Yamaha rhino. Yeah more power always is nice but to be honest I’m always surprised by the vtwin

      Still breaking mine in. But, I feel you on the power. It’s kinda the same thing as “Having too much fun”. There is no such thing.

      It's one of the cheapest for a reason. But it dominates its class. The things a Billy goat. Goes where ever. U lose top speed but ur hardly riding that fast

    And the way the engine braking works it will not release like say a polaris for instance but if you ride in the rocks its amazing

      I’m hoping for the same reliability. I still own a Brute Force 650 (2008). That has been a solid ride. And has now been relegated to ranch work. Love the tilt wheel & the adjustable seat. As there is a clear height difference between my wife, my daughters & myself.

    What I like and dislike is the same. No frills. I love that they are simple reliable well built. But lacks in niceties compared to other models. Not as fun to drive, things like that.

    Someone said on another review that was three years ago that the Kawasaki had issues with engine heat coming into the cabin and a lot of engine noise. Do you still think that’s an issue now that it’s a newer vehicle? They were comparing it against the Yamaha Wolverine rmax 4x 850.

    • @BackcountryLife
      @BackcountryLife  Рік тому

      Yeah I think it still has lots of heat in the cab, I haven’t spent very much time with the Yamaha but I hear it’s good

    This was posted in May 2023 so I would imagine the review was on something new but its not. This is obviously an old teryx4, I can tell by the headlights alone. It would be nice for you to state the year and model type on a review. Guessing this is a 2013. I see the LE sticker which is surprising because all the limited editions I saw look much nicer than yours. I have the SE and its plenty fancy for a UTV. Mine has adjustable steering, seats, stereo, nicer headlights, winch etc. All stock.

    Had my eye on a used one but after this it's a nope. Definitely noisy. With four people plus gear uphill would be a challenge. At top speed it looked like it was going to self destruct. And that bed is ridiculously small.
