As someone who has worked on set knowing what sound editors expect, can do, hate, love etc. is really helpful. You need more exposure so here goes the share...
Such a great video for mid/starters. Thank you so so much Thomas, can't thank you enough. I am facing towards my first post of an indie feature film and I'm scared, videos like this really take that fear away. Best wishes for you in the future
Thank you! You are a gem! I am learning all i can about filmmaking and i have learned so much about audio editing from you. Just wanted you to know i am very grateful to have this information for free. Bless you ❤
another superb video, packed full of useful information and tips, thank you. Where do you sit when it comes to using izotope vs waves clarity vx or similar noise reduction tools?
"Not all clicks are bad". Me and two friends had a discussion about clicks in the french movie Anatomy of a Fall. In the beginning there's a scene with a journalist interviewing the principal character, she is drinking wine and have a few mouth clicks. Her husband is in the upper floor with loud music and I think hammering fixing the roof. My friends told that those clicks were an error and I said, that those clicks were natural from her mouth. We dont arrived to an agreement 😂😂😂
@27:20 - There you go. Train to be fast and efficient. Know how to get into the bigger details. 98 percent of your work is going to be fast and efficient. However, I still don't use chains even in fast and efficient.
how so you preview modules in the module chain. I can't hit play and hear what it does. In the module chain three also no preview button. So do you always have to render it in, then listen, and probably undo and tweak? Thanks!
you really saved me man you are the real G.O.A.T

Glad to hear it! Good luck with the film!
I’m an audio engineer, live and studio mixing. Started having an interest in dialog editing with RX. Find it fascinating.
Thank you!

I tried clarity and prefer other tools for noise reduction. Cedar DNS One is my main tool for broadband

I only use them in the “I shouldn’t have taken this gig” instances

No problem, AI is part of our world in professional post production so I’m not averse to it. But I understand, good luck on your travels.
