Hey Thomas, Great content, i was bummed i wasn't able to catch this one live. I love how much detail you go in to, and showcasing modules that are not as often talked about like Deconstruct. Never knew when to use that until now. I wanted to share a pro tip with Izotope that i use a lot, especially for podcasts, is changing the. Frequency view to Extended Log to clean up plosives. It lowers the low range frequency down to show below 20hz so it's very easy to see and quickly clean up those nasty plosives. Excited to see the next video! Thank you!
Hi Thomas, working in dubbing, I mainly work on animation, but starting to get into live action. On some of these show we’re tracking 3 mic’s (two booms & a lav) and they’re asking for all mic’s edited with a super quick turn around. I’m used to editing one mic, cleaning it really well with RX, leveling, & checking sync. I basically don’t see how it’s possible to do all 3 mics in such a quick turnaround & was wondering if you’ve ever experienced this workflow, what you’d recommend, & how long you’d expect it to take. Really appreciate it, good to see someone teaching things the right way.
@@ThomasBoykin Appreciate the feedback. We’re getting 3 days, for a 58min show. 3 mic’s each character, some have 4. The mixer really only uses the boom which is what I usually focus on, but the clients asking for all mics edited, synced, & leveled for possible blending & switching. Thinking Auto-Align Post, RX module chain for quick cleaning & leveling. Using all spare time for deeper RX & sync. But, massive corners being cut, doesn’t feel great. Not sure it’s possible, but your videos have given me a good amount of ideas. Again, much appreciated. Gotta love it.
Hi Thomas! As always, thank you so much for your videos. They are so crucial. I have a request when you get a chance. I have a short I'm going to mix soon, and it has ALOT of car pass-bys I have to clean cause they recorded next to a highway. Any advice on how to clean/preserve the dialogue without a lengthy ADR session? And if ADR is a must any tips on what to listen for when eqing the recordings to the original source audio? THANK YOU
I loved this stream. One clarifying question: in your 5 tips for noise reduction vid you endorse de-crackle for mouth clicks. But, in this vid you mention using it for scratchy lavs and not for mouth clicks, because it cuts into the consonants too much. So, don't use it for mouth clicks?
Good video. Your channel is golden mine🙏
Thanks again for the contents! It's great and refreshing everytime watching you sharing your insight of the editing/mixing!
Marvellous. Thanks Thomas! 😀
Thanks Thomas!

Cool, I will give that a go tomorrow since I’m dealing with a lot of LF content on my current show

Thanks for this.

One minute of runtime per hour of labor is a good pace to set

Long fades, alts, and if you do ADR, record it outside with a boom and lav mic
conteúdo muito explicativo! obrigado!
Com certeza

If you have to process an entire file, use decrackle. I don’t do that much anymore, everything is frame by frame on quality projects
Great video again thanks! Discord Link?
