please link to your soldering iorn been trying some cheap soldering iorn :( i got at a dollor store and the tip dont melt the solder its hard to solder good am sure ur soldering iorn wasnt to expensive and u did a great job on installing chip link please

@@allanpedro2483 I mean for sure it’s better to remove the modchip with soldering iron, but if you don’t have it, carefully cut the wires and wrap it in tape, don’t let the wires be shorted. It will not damage your console if there is no short.
Nope, modchip allows to run unsigned code on your console. It allows you to launch games from a usb drive for example. Since ps2 spots only usb 1.0 people face problems during cutscenes in games cause it’s a bit slow, but there are no problems during the game.

If you had disabled your chip by holding the start button, you would have seen “disabled “ on the the screen. Then just put your console on standby and it should enable the modbo chip.

Hello, try to use another storage device if you load games from a USB device. Also many people use defragmentation after they transfer games to USB device

Ever had issue all wires installed right but you get red screen of death for ps2 backup discs? Cd-r ps1 games work fine

You can damage the soldering points. Better use scissors and then rap the wires with tape.

What's the difference between the piece you removed and the one you installed?
They are different mod chips. Allow you to play games from dvd and flash drive. The one that was in the console probably was dead.
