Why did they let the plane land on a runway that has a wall at the end? Looks like the pilot successfully belly landed the plane and expectedly taking a long distance to stop. If the runway has open field at the end, many more could have survived.
As the Korean news, that runway is not the normal line for aircraft landing. The plane once failed its first landing trial, and the place changed the runway the opposite way.
@To-ThereSeems like the engines are going at a serious rate when they would be shut down or reverse thrusters. Although the sound on the video is likely the noise of the belly of the plane scraping along the runway rather than engines, so hard to tell.
Airports are designed for planes to overshoot the runway there’s always grasslands or something to the front left and right just in case. The question is why was there a concrete wall at the end of this runway? That is not a international standard at all. This needs to be investigated. This is so sad nobody should’ve died in the pilot did his thing. He just didn’t see that big wall in front of him. I am praying for the victims and their families.
All planes and runways should have built-in fire-suppression devices to help allow people a better chance of survival by limiting the spreading of fire.
Basically, plane hits wall and explodes. I'm not sure why they can't show it, but can show a plane going into the twin towers? Maybe airports should have something that can stop planes in emergency situations.

I am only a civil aviator and i only have what i know, but from all the videos ive seen and with my knowledge of the aircraft and speaking to others, a birdstrike should not cause a hydraulic faliure, this is backed up by the fact that the aircrafy initally on final had gear and flaps down, which following the birdstrike it pulled back in. I believe the severity of the bird strike was not enough to abort the initial landing which i think is a fault of the pilots judgement, as for the final landing itself, i see no reason why the gear and flaps should be up, there is a chance, and this is speculatory , but theres a chance that due to overprwssure the pilot may of forgot, i cant see probably cause of a hydraulics faliure. Also, the landing was operated too fast and too late, likely due to landing with no flaps or gear, other belly landings have happened before on similar length runways where the plane stops before the end. Its a truly tragic loss, but unless i see further edvidence i find it hard not to put doubt on the pilots decision making for the initial go around, the nature of the landing and the fact they didnt abort the second belly landing in spite of how late and fast they were. @TomNook. it has a wall protecting the ILS
Yeah. Should be something to help the plane stop and not help explode lol

My best guess is to probably protect the ILS or to keep people/vehicles or other unauthorized presence out
