So fun! Thank you for sharing! (And yes! Hot weather!!!)
Great job!
Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. I started again ( After more than 10 years not running) a couple of months ago. Your Videos are inspiring an helpful. So, thanks again.
Wow Ryan. Absolute respect for that one. 42 miles on tarmac doing 4 mile loops in the heat….😮wow. The mental toughness you must have is amazing. But then to recover so quick and back to training shows what great physical shape you are in too. Looking forward to seeing what else 2023 has in store for you
You know when it’s to hot for John it’s too hot lol
Awesome video Ryan. I've been following since you did Cruel Jewel (I watched that video a dozen times before I ran and finished it lol) and you're editing skills have improved so much. You've given me some real inspiration for my running videos and I can't wait to see what you do next!
Good stuff man! 42 miles is crazy!
Cool video Ryan, I could somehow feel the heat through the screen. It was a fun day and much more challenging than I imagined.
Totally agree Joe, fun seeing you out there!! Thanks!
Nice work Ryan 🙌🏽
Time to do a solo 50 again 👍🏽👍🏽✔️
What a blast! I’ve always kind of dismissed these backyard ultras but now I totally want to try doing one. The local small stuff can be super fun! Thanks for sharing, Ryan!
For sure!!! the local races are a blast and backyard ultras present unique learning opportunities and easy way to test gear and nutrition/hydration.
Great video, Ryan! Way to get after it! Looks like a fun event. Keep hammering!
yeah such a fun event, love the format! Thanks Zak!
Nice report Ryan. That was a truly hot afternoon. Way to persevere. Wise choice. It's a wild format for sure.
Thank you Joe!
Good stuff Ryan!
Thanks Hawkins!!
Isn't that first lap surreal? So much nervous excitement then an easy jog.I think I spent more energy on chit chat than I did on running in my BYU.
so much excitement on that first lap, and so fun that everyone is together the whole time!
Looks like “fun”! Great job, my buddy Joe Kern out there with ya. 💪💪
yeah I met Joe!! definitely a "fun" event haha
Congrats! Still 10 hours!
What do you think of the format compared to normal ultras? I feel I would miss the "adventure" part of a regular trail, if that makes sense. Even 20 miles loop isn't exactly my thing. But curious to try a backyard ultra once, just to see...
Yes, definitely miss some of the "adventure" that a normal ultra provides, but these backyard ultras are a really good test. They fool you in the first 6-7 hours being so 'easy' and then they start to get harder. Can get complicated if weather is an issue too. Definitely think I gained a lot from this one and will do another!
