  • To maintain you SeaDoo fishpro properly, you need to take off the engine bay deck every time after you ride in salt water, and every so often if riding in fresh water. This video shows how to make the process fun. and give you a great excuse to buy another tool for your shop!
    EDIT 2024_06_17
    That yellow nut that keeps falling down into the hull is:
    Housing Nut M6

    Thank you so much
    My fish finder wasn’t showing depth and I wasn’t exactly sure how to access it
    This video saved me an expensive visit when all I needed to do was add antifreeze to the tube that was empty

    Maybe you could film your post ride cleaning of the engine sometime please. Thanks for this video.

    Don't know if you mentioned this, but those require T30 bits. I carry both the drill and a 1/4 inch socket wrench that will accept that bit.

      YUP me to on the bit and the socket wrench. Been thinking about the driver too, expecially for my longer multi day away from everything tips.

    First carbon rings cratered at about 30 hrs.. I say it was bad carbon ring material from the factory. My understanding is that they have recalled or do replacements with a better material - they got a bad batch of carbon rings on the 2019 was my understanding. The ring line on the white athletic tape is after about 40 hrs or riding. I will check the engine alignment and have new carbom put in when I replace wear ring and have the pump out.

    Hey thank you! I just ordered a 2021 Fish Pro. So excited! I will be exploring Puget Sound in the PNW, not too much fishing tho. I’d really appreciate if you could give me a quick list of the tools you bring along. I don’t believe in being caught off guard. It’s my first PWC. Hoping to put in longer over night trips into the San Juan Islands and beyond. Cheers!

( see youtube 3ftdeep channel), knife,mosquito head screen,usb battery dongle for charging cell phone off battery, a spare jump start booster battery, flares, and flare gun, strobe, cayalume sticks, Satellite personal locator beacom, this for starters,

    Have you added a bilge? We only ride on lakes in TX, OK, and AR, so not too concerned, but ran into fishermen in California, that said they have to have that piece of mind in the Pacific when they go 9-12 miles out.

    So in the 2024 fishpro the top two screws have the captive screw holders. I lost the top port female in the engine bay. I have tried to find it, but it has not been found yet. Is there an order # to replace them ? I could use a 6 MM nut and washer, but I was wondering if you had any info on where to get them. I have looked all over Amazon and the net for them. Thank you Dave.

      Humm you meant the nut that is used at the head end of the cover?
      This are 6mm nuts and they have a nylon insert to keep them positioned after tightening. These are stainless but I think they use brass which is better if you can get it, because even stainless corrodes in salt water.

      I could only see in on the parts diagram for the Fishpro 2019 model!

    Do i really need an impact driver or can i just use a drill?

    • @streetmann1367
      @streetmann1367 3 роки тому

      Drill will work fine too. I just use the impact because it is smaller than my drill, and until the screw gets drawn up it free runs and when the screw starts clamping the impact noise give me indication of that state of things. That said, a drill will work too!

    Any idea how I can remove a stripped screw? I got one and can't remove the cover

      Dremmel tool with thin cut-off wheel to edge grind into the top of the torx head. Yah you may bugger up the deck but it is under the seat or if not consider it a badge of honor and go with it.

      Left hand drill bit works like a charm. Stripped heads usually the result of using power tools instead of hand tools.

    Do u get any water in the motor capartment when u ride

    • @streetmann1367
      @streetmann1367 3 роки тому

      Sometimes..I always check..most times things are dry but water entry can come from a carbon ring needing replacement.. I ALWAYS check after each ride by removing this cover.

      I got water into hull last week from loose vacuum siphon tubes at the thru hull fitting. Bilge started firing at dock. Lucky hoses were just loose and did not come off the fitting.

      Not sure at this point.. i just tighten "to sung them a bit. Think finger sung and then 1/2 turn. The clip they screw into is resilient and kind of rubberized and it gives a bit when tightening..

    That's too much maintenance

    • @billjenkins1535

      I can see the pain of it all, but from many of us it beats a 4,000 engine repair or a sunk boat from a carbon rings that crates on the water. No real way to inspect that carbon ring unless this cover is removed. Perhaps SD could re-design so that there was some sort of port hole that one could look through.
