Pretty hard to get for a new shaper like myself, but with you I dont see the problem ha! I went to hawaii myself and the waves are so fun! Glad you had fun and you're definitely one of my favorite shapers now that I have seen this video! Keep up the good work!

I know lots of renowned glassers that choose not to use mask.
Why is that?
When I was a kid, around 16-17, I used to fix surfboards for me and many friends and had a problem in my blood because I didn't wear a mask. Went to the doctor because a hurt wouldn't heal for a month. He said it was the gas from the resin. As soon as I stop fixing surfboards the hurt healed.
I really appreciate your hard work and many years of serving the surf community!

I noticed in the video, you were carrying a "3" fin surfboard.
Are there any advantages or differences between using a
"3" fin, verses a "4" fin board,
regarding performance?
Back in the day when I was surfing, all I had was 'one' fin.

I have a board which has flat bottom contour from nose to chest area (When your lying face-down and paddeling) and transitions gradually to a double concave in the middle of the board (No single concave before the double) then it transitions to a Vee at the tail end. I do not know what does that do for the board or the rider or how the board will behave in the water. It's a 6'6" x 21 x 2.75 Egg shaped board. I still haven't tried it because we are still on strict quarantine. It's still wrapped in it's packaging. It's my 1st board. Been riding rentals. Would appreciate it if you could tell me what to expect with that kind of bottom contour. Most boards start with a single concave then gradually transition to double but this one, from flat, goes to double right-away. Please do share if you have tried a board like this. Thank you and best of luck to your channel. :)
As is your first board you will not feel the difference until you are riding other boards. Let's say about 3 years surfing at least 3 times a week.
That board will paddle slowly because it has a flat entry, also taking in consideration the buoyancy.
Once on a wave, depending on the size, the double concave is meant for speed and the V for transition. Being an EGG shape makes is somehow maneuverable but then it again is all about the surfer. Don't expect huge turns on this, gotta some leg power to snap it. But is only a 6,6 so that's not that bad to maneuver it.

i want to make a surfboard, but i dont know which resin must be used? please help!!!!
well it all depends on the kind of core that you're using. for an EPS core you need to use an (EPOXY) resin!!!!!! i can not stress this enough. PU foam can use epoxy or polyester resin. if you use polyester on EPS then you have ruined you board. it melts the foam!!!! so use EPOXY for EPS mate :)

He is applying the "Hot Coat", it is an extra layer of epoxy witch give the surfboard a nice gloss, sometimes the hot coat will have UV protection, hope this was helpful.

Not really instructional in any way. Just showing you bits and pieces of how Joel lives life. More a self promotion clip, with advertising for Bennett's . Is that Barry Bennett? Was not much better than a Shane pop out. Wouldn't be seen dead with one, used to be the common expression in the 70's and 80's. But like Kylie, if you hang around long enough your reputation inexplicably seems to improve.
