This vlog shows just how good a Merlin park can look when they actually put some care into it! If only Alton Towers was looked after as well as Heide, it would look incredible!
Always think about: Merlin bought this park in 2007. 2001 the owner was Tussauds. Before the park was family owned. So much of the things you see there are from the times before Merlin.
Revamp Alton towers? What kinda like changing haunted woods changing nemesis and forbidden valley, changing ug land etc etc. yea they already did and are 😂
@@benyoung1224Dark forest was a downgrade from Ug-land. Forbidden valley isn't changing much after nemei retrack, and it makes no-sense to have Galactica in the same area as Nemesis. Alton towers lacks the charm it used to have. It used to be magical and since Merlin took over it's gone so far downhill! Only good thing Merlin have done since owning Towers is Wickerman and Gloomy Wood Refresh. Smilers area is hardly themed, it's just a big spider like thing and it's just very bland
Colossus is like Wickerman but than on steroids haha Charlotte is an absolute warrior for going on the droptowers.. even though she's not keen of them 💪
Another good video, really enjoyed and always look forward for more. This park really loves their white coasters, is that to blend it all in with skyline? Why all so white, could add some or all with immersive themes? At least some, why all need to be white? Too much white coasters in my opinion. Nice sized park with so much room for more & new big coasters, attractions and more for future. Love the look of Flight of the Demons coaster, looks epic. Think could do with more theming around coaster in my opinion, but still a good coaster to look at, wish we could have POV's of all rides, thats one thing I miss from Merlin parks and have stated this before. But would be good if could film on rides, coasters and attractions with Go Pro cameras. But well have to see if they allow it again one day? But I very much doubt it which is a shame. Over size, Colossos is brilliant, but with theming in my opinion Wickerman at Alton Towers Resort is top 100%. Just love how its compacted, built of wood & has structure in with it all. Just love it more, think coaster at this park needs more theming around it? To really immerse it into story. But nice vlog, really enjoyed and look forward to at some point watching Day Two. Good to also see Corkscrew trains still in operation & not been scrapped. Wonder if they ever retire those trains, with them at Alton Towers if they will place train in corkscrews? Be a nice touch in my opinion? 😀👍
Excellent video Shawn and Charlotte from Heide Park Resort located in Germany! In this action-packed day one vlog, we experience all of the biggest rides at the park including Colossos, a spectacular wooden roller coaster. We also ride Krake, Flug der Dämonen, and many more awesome attractions. keep the good videos coming on the channel, Shawn and Charlotte.
Congratulations for finally nailing the pronunciation of Heide Park and Flug der Dämonen 👏👏👏 . You obviously trained hard for that but it paid off so well 👍. Greetings from Germany.
Thanks for a really great vlog, my daughter and me are going to Heide Park tomorrow for a 3 day stay at their cabins, booked it like 3 months ago and daughter has been looking forward to it ever since, i'm looking forward to our stay too ofc, you should try Djurs sommerland and Faarup sommerland here in Denmark, got some quite nice coaster rides too, not as big and wild as Heide Park or other big parks thou, but still quite fun rides, considered the size of the parks imo.
Great video. I was yesterday the 29th of april 2023 in the Heide Park. I live in the near from the parc. I love the Heide Park so much, because the parc has a lit of cool rollercoaster and more things for each one. My first visit was about ten years. My favorits are "Flug der Dämonen" and "Big Loop". I hope you got a Beautiful day too. Greetings from Germany! 👋😊
So proud of Charlotte for giving the drop towers a go! Drop zone at kings island (the home park I grew up with) is another super intense intamin drop tower. Hopefully you all get to ride it this Summer!
So crazy seeing ppl in the comments taking this park as an example of "how a merlin park could look if they cared about a park". Y'all this used to be the prime example of a sh*t park within german forums for YEARS since Merlin bought it. It actually looked quite grim a few years ago but since they took the risk of retracking Colossos it seems as if they also retracked their care for the entire park 😂 . Seeing so many positive reviews really shows how a park can improve again! btw. Shawn, good job pronouncing Flug der Dämonen!
Heide Park looks lovely, just shows up what a sad looking place Thorpe Park is. Talking about the SBNO though it always annoys me when we visit Terra Mittica and the abandoned woodie there but I don't expect we will ever get to ride that!
You learn something everyday I had no idea the train from the former Corkscrew at Alton Towers were being reused here at this park. Great theme park guys and equally a good vlog. Keep up the great work😉👍
20:49 I loved the Swarm at Thorpe Park but i agree with the vest straps, they do get very tight and with me only been skinny, it is quit uncomfortable at the end on the brake run and going back into the station buts still a great ride!
@10:20 that lift and turn B4 drop is what creates the anticipation. I love it and can't wait to ride! Does the intamin pre fab take away from ride quality?
This park clearly has a lot going for it…but what’s going on with the overall theme and character of the place? I don’t really get what they’re trying to be. What’s the connection between the “Transsilvanien” area, a desert race and Peppa Pig? With such a large and open site, it would probably be better to just drop the whole novelty theming thing and concentrate on great landscaping.
That's exactly what Heide Park did before Merline took over. All of the beatiful buildings and landscaping that Shawn and Charlotte really like here, was built by the private owners before Merline bought the park. And there was actually more of it. A whole park section with three good rides was closed, the entrance area had a really beautiful town square with lovely German facades and a tea cups ride, the old log flume that was demolished for FLug der Dämonen was one of the best themed log flumes in the world in still would be today...the list goes on and one, sadly.
Hi shawn and Charlotte really enjoyed the vlog . I'm off to Florida for 2 weeks on Saturday. Can't wait my 1st time ever I'm beyond excited. Do you have any tips to share on the parks out there ? . Thankyou for sharing with us . Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Love your videos Shaun, but I must say I prefer the ones with povs although I know it's not your fault but your description of the rides are first class
39:43 I like the new colour of the Nemesis track, i think the black colour looks really cool but im not sure what i think about the red on it but looking forward to seeing some of the track in place when i visit in July. I miss the ride, i went on Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park and its a good ride but i prefer Nemy!
I think this park lost most of its charme with the Merlin takeover. Yes they added some great rides, but they also removed a lot of trees and theming and great rides. Lots of open spaces now where rides used to be and new themed sections are not the quality of what it used to be. I went here for the first time in the early 2000’s and loved it, and now it’s not even in my top5 German parks anymore. The first part of the entrance of FDD is indeed the same entrance of the old Schwarzkopf logflume, but as far as I can remember did the ride not go through there. The round building was the station. The wooden lookout was there when the logflume was in use. From there You can now even still see a part of the logflume lifthill If I am correct.
The location of Heide Park is not that bad, actually it is in the middle between the 3 cities Hamburg, Bremen and Hannover. And it is under 1hour drive from each of those citys.
Was very happy to do my first theme park trip in April Went to walibi Holland first Efteling 2nd then plopsaland de panne 3rd Lost gravity at walibi is way better than I thought it was and platform express And Anubis was really good But untamed and ride to happiness was god tier for me Also had a random hail and thunderstorm while walking in Tilburg haha

I really miss wildwasserbahn II where Fluch der Demonen replaced it. It was one, if not the most beautiful themed log flume without supports. Flucht der demonen is a nice coaster, but a more unique attraction has been lost. The entrance always made me wish I could still ride it one more time. I don't really like Merlin to be honest. Getting rid of log flumes, overdue maintenance and excessive rules. And they don't care about the experience in the park itself. As you say, Heide park had a great German feel. That disappeared a lot because of them.
I just went to chessington with my family today, it was really nice though the rides kept closing and reopening again, what is your favourite ride at chessington? mine is vampire.
Thank you for watching! Check out our day two vlog from the park here ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/Mw870O1knOA/v-deo.html
Flug der damonen definitely my fav. Theming is fantastic and song as well.
This vlog shows just how good a Merlin park can look when they actually put some care into it! If only Alton Towers was looked after as well as Heide, it would look incredible!
It’s a great park with a huge variety of attractions!
This just shows what merlin can do if they decide to. I would like to see Towers go round and freshen up the park.

They have shown what they can do with Wicker Man and other rides so I don’t see why they can’t
If by that you mean purchase a park that a family were proud of and poured their heart into, and then slowly remove bit of it
Amazing park and footage TPW crew thanks 4 sharing
Thank you!
I love when I see your two happy faces popping up in my subs, love you guys!!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for uploading I really appreciate the effort you put into your videos

Yeeeeessssssss 🔥
It sure is!
I like the signage, it gives me those 90s vibes you used to get at Merlin parks.
Wow, amazing ... love to see more ... 👍👍👍 like

So much fun watching you both on your travels. Thank you for the "adventures". Continued safe travels!!
Thank you for coming along!
Wow radical colour scheme with the purple supports

@ThemeParkWorldwide I'm glad you had a great time.

The Ghost-Buster's ride reminded me of Planet Coaster
i was in Heide Park this year as well, but for 5 days at the end of April until 1st of May
The one that you show around 51 min lol similar to the bug dipper at Blackpool
i love this park
It’s a great park with some awesome attractions!
I love all the theming. I wish we had more of that in the US.

Merlin have little choice but to put effort into the presentation at Heide Park as the competition in Germany and mainland Europe is so much higher.
Definitely

SQUEAL! I can't wait till next week. We are going for our 25th Wedding anniversary. ❤
so cool i wish i can go!
Have a great time!
I had no idea germany had so many themeparks til u guys
There’s so much out there to discover
Going to be in Hanover next month so weather permitting I’ll check this place out
I learned earlier that Big Loop is a mirrored version of Dragon Fyre at Canada's Wonderland.
Heide Park does look really fun to visit, though. ^^
It’s a great park!
This is like a German version of Towers!
I was waiting for u to say about big loop lol 😂! I want to go to Heidi Park for ages hopefully getting there soon!
Great ride!
@Theme Park Worldwide isn't it rough though? Like guderix in France? ( I don't think I spelt that right 😅 )
Your Flüg der Dämonen sounds better than your Baron 1898. Well done!
Thank you!

It did 😂
I’m really surprised you haven’t been to legoland Deutschland , they’ve got some fantastic rides
It’s on our list for a future visit!
Miss the monorail at chessy. The skyline at Legoland needs to be bigger it needs to go round the whole miniland and maybe Duplo land
Garlic is used as a Vampire repellent, guess that's why it's in there in the Transylvania area haha
Im in the Video 😂🎉

Shawn i put that cause i been on the big 1 in Blackpool before lol laughed from start to finish what u think of it??
What a awesome park such a shame you can’t film on ride. Some great off ride footage though. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😆😁😄😃😃😃😁😁
Thank you!
Was very happy to do my first theme park trip in April
Went to walibi Holland first
Efteling 2nd then plopsaland de panne 3rd
Lost gravity at walibi is way better than I thought it was and platform express
And Anubis was really good
But untamed and ride to happiness was god tier for me
Also had a random hail and thunderstorm while walking in Tilburg haha
That sounds like a great trip!
Wait, did I see Millennium Force Squishmellows in the gift shop or am I seeing things?
u guys are coming to denmark djurs have open every weekend and On friday
friday tomoroow not alyways
i think you should push for more povs i used to love roller coasters until a car accident that left me in a wheel chair i know parks have restrictions on filming but would be nice to have a ride with you guys
It’s always great when we can film on ride. Sadly many parks don’t allow it!
Did you use your merlin pass discount for your tickets, if so where do you claim the 50% off tickets?
It can be purchased at the gate by showing your pass
@@ThemeParkWorldwide ah okay thank you, so im guessing its 50% off the gate price?
Bobbhan might look better within the Transylvania themed area, but I do find Reptilian more creative at surface value
Do you pay for attractions separately or it's in the ticket
All included in admission
I really miss wildwasserbahn II where Fluch der Demonen replaced it. It was one, if not the most beautiful themed log flume without supports. It was very unique because the whole track was at ground level and the drop was unexpectedly high and wet. The boats were shaped like an owl and a monkey. Flucht der demonen is a nice coaster, but a more unique attraction has been lost. The entrance always made me wish I could still ride it one more time. I don't really like Merlin to be honest. That disappeared a lot because of them.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
With T3 gone, maybe they should snatch up the trains if Wild Adventures doesn't want them
Imagine explaining to someone that Colossus, Colossos and Twisted Colossus are three different rides
I just went to chessington with my family today, it was really nice though the rides kept closing and reopening again, what is your favourite ride at chessington? mine is vampire.
Vampire is such a classic and also a great ride!
Would love to see when u vlog on aride so can see what it's like please
Unfortunately they don’t allow on ride filming here on most rides!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide sneak it in lol
Is it near Hamburg?
It is!
Did you get discount using the Merlin Passes you have from the uk in this park?
50% discount on tickets with a UK Merlin Pass
Shaun which do you prefer, Europa Park or Heide park?
Europa Park
