Noisy, slow, smelly sink? Easy DIY fix

If your sink is draining slow, noisy, or has a smell there could be a simple DIY repair. The air admittance valve or AAV might be installed in the wrong place. Plumbing code generally requires the AAV to be a minimum of 4" above the horizontal portion of the drain. Mine was above that limit but the drain was still slow even after snaking and trying drain cleaners. Moving it up higher definitely improved the flow.
