It’s so good to see you posting again Summer. Your teaching method is so detailed that for me at least it’s impossible not to learn how to properly do the technique. Thank you kindly for this tutorial!
Getting ready to order some clubs and mace (from Onnit) but still not sure where to start. Most things I read say start light but I wonder if the 5lb clubs and 10lb mace is enough for me. I understand not to let my ego decide and don't want to get hurt but I am also a 6' tall and 190lbs 40 something year old guy who can still do pushups and pullups (not many) I have read that the lighter things will always be useful regardless of strength and exp. for "flow" but also that the 10lb mace might not be heavy enough to properly utilize the movements relying on "momentum." Also curious about the Onnit brand 5lbs not being the traditional Indian shape clubs and whether this has any effect on things over all. PLZ HALP
I prefer tacfit (www.tacfit.com) clubs all around, and yea get a 10 lb and a 15lb steel mace to start. Highly recommend taking virtual classes that cover two kinesiology of club swinging at my studio to maximize form and get real coaching: www.FlowShala.com See On Demand for 300 recorded classes, or 30 Day Flow Challenge for live zoom instruction 💪🏻
@@SummerHuntington Thanks, not sure I'd even heard of them only Onnit and Set for Set which to my understanding are the "best." But considering how your whole UA-cam channel and presumably much of your life is dedicated to these things I'll take your recommendation stronlgly ;) So you think the next step ups will be smart/safe for me at my size and (slightly above average but not Superman) fitness level? One reason I had considered getting the smallest ones (perhaps even the short handled 7lb mace, any exp. with this? I've thought maybe it would have crossover benefit for Kung Fu weapon such as "melon hammer") is that I too have an interest in teaching people at some point. I have previously been a certified personal trainer and intermediate Yogi.
Thank you! With all due respect I think you would benefit most by working with our coaches at Flow Shala with such detailed questions. Do the 30 day Flow Challenge to start and lmk how it goes!
@@SummerHuntington Who should I ask? Should I just send them an email or something? Also I noticed Tacfit (like Onnit and others) have their own courses as well. Obviously you have an allegiance to the one you work for/with but curious what the benefit of Flow Shala is over the other guys? I think I have gravitated toward you due to my pre-existing background in Yoga (dance and martial arts) in that it would appear your style is more along these lines than say something like Crossfit or more traditional
