    # Reason or intention
    - I stopped by the grocery store for some coffee " followed by a noun "
    - I stopped by the grocery store to buy some coffee " followed by verb infinitive "
    - in a few months I am traveling to California for a conference
    - In a few months I am traveling to California to speak at a conference
    # used to indicate the recipient
    - yesterday I bought a birthday card for my sister
    - yesterday I bought a birthday card to send to my sister (to = movement)
    • give, sell,send,mail ...
    # important to me ( to = if personal values attached to it . Have emotional value)
    # important for me ( for = it has benefit )

    Thank you for this precious lesson, Annemarie. It was so important for me as I'm often in a doubt whether to use "to" or "for". Now that all is clear, I guess have to practise more and on a daily base to get more confident and avoid mistakes.
