This is something I have been asking for for quite a long time now. I am a long-time Red Bull fan and absolutely love Verstappen’s all-out driving. The appetite for winning. I have long seen the same tendency with Magnussen and always respected him for it. The highlight of the Hungarian GP last year was the great fight between Ricciardo and Magnussen. He was basically the only midfield driver who dared to put up a fight against Ricciardo’s charge up through the field. Almost everyone seem to love to hate Magnussen for is hard racing style...yet many of the same people seem to scream for more exciting races...Am I the only one who find that odd? 😉😉 I would really like to see what Magnussen could do in a top team car and would love it to be a Red Bull!
I'm danish so i'm probably biased, but i really hope he'll get a chance with a top team before finishing his career in F1. Imo he is a great driver, and he has shown this season that he is very skilled, and qualifying 5th in Austria was just mad. But unfortunately the car isn't good enough right now, which is really sad.

For me, that's pushing it to the limit. (Mostly, they all make 'mistakes' in the heat of the moment). But looking at the numbers it's really not bad. In 2018 he got two penalties regarding unsafe driving/causing a collision. As an example, Bottas got three and Verstappen five.
Other drivers: Bwoah, for sure we will have to analyze it and keep working on the car, it wasn't the best result but we got some good data for sure. Kevin: It sucked, the car drives perfectly in qualy and then turns into a sausage wagon in the race.
There are some interviews that disappoint (Raikkonen). There are some interviews that are perfect, as expected (G. Murray). And then, there are interviews that you don't expect a lot from them and turn out perfect, like this one.

Again a great interview! Listened to every second of it. A few observations: 1) indeed his English is really good for a guy who says he missed a lot of school. His intelligence shines through in the choice of words and his thinking etc 2) indeed the Jacques Villenueve type of guy (had exactly the same thought!) 3) it's beautiful to see how a midfield driver really cherishes the wish to one day become a world champion.. you really pray that the 2021 rules will work in favour of midfield teams, and 4) what a journey it has been for the young Magnussen, he's seen quite a lot in his few years in F1. I thought Tom that you would bring up the 'getting fired from McLaren on his birthday' thing that happened to him. But as I understood Ron backed him all the way. While in the press it came across as Ron had almost joyfully fired him on his birthday. Still would be nice to get some clarification on that!
It's due to the fact that we arn't dubbing TV or Movies, and until recently we hadn't had a single videogame translated to danish(They were all english). That and the fact our education system is quite good, so even if he missed alot of school the hours he had has been proper.

Maybe, it depends on which team you support. If you’re a Renault supporter and/or Hulkenberg fan, he’s the worst driver. If you’re a Senna fan, he’s amazing. And of course, if you’re a Danish F1 fan, he’s the best driver on the grid ;)
A M he consistantly has less penalty points than most other. The great and cool he does in races is often not broadcast by F1, cause Cams arepointed where they always are. And finally, he is marketed extremely negative and unjust by Sky F1. I don’t wanna mention any names but Ted Kravitz and the Indian dude are constant 100% haters. And that disqualify them as reporters, doesn’t it? What happened to objectivity....
in Denmark we are very relaxed about celebrities, we are such a small country in size, we walk up and down them all the time, it is inevitable. that makes us kind of "meh, there he is again, 3rd time today!"

You always hear stars (in whatever profession) talk about how they “always knew” they were going to be stars in their future profession from when they were three years old, but they usually have the insight of a squirrel, when they draw a straight line from their conviction and determination to their success. Kevin realizes this way of thinking is naive and even childish, even if he made it to the absolute top ranks of motor racing. At 25:28 he’s also really clear: he got in the McLaren team because of his dad. No frills, no embellishments, just straight up recognizing he had a leg up simply because of his dad’s connections. I like that. And really enjoyed the interview. Even if I don’t like him so much in the race weekends. He “Vettels” too much for my taste: complain and whine when it’s not going his way, and these silly outbursts when he gets something right. And you can’t tell the nicest bloke in the paddock to “suck your balls”, or tell your team you’re driving the worst car in your racing career while you just wrecked it the day before and the mechanics were working through the night to get something on the road that can at least get around the circuit. But still, best of luck to him!
Remember that English isn't KMags native language, so when he says things it may be less nuanced that it would otherwise be. Like for example the swearing, doing that in a language which is not your own is just somehow different.

I like K-Mag - yeah he' does some questionable things in races but I like him because unlike most drivers he speaks his mind and not PR speak.
