For the longest time I had the idea to try and make a mod which would allow people to start up impromptu objective based faction wars in regular minecraft survival servers. I don''t know how to code, so naturally it fell through. Watching this video is starting to rekindle that desire. There is a DESPERATE need for there to be an /actual/ reason for players to build and fight other with creative inventions like this! Not just for some player kill count number, but fighting over stuff like territory, or a specific new ore of some kind, or any other objective that drives people across the landscape.
There is a server building itself around the upcoming aeronautics mod where people are making gigantic battle airships because it will be a flying islands world. I think this will make sens as the islands will be small, and easy to defend or attack for players. Should be fun (it's called Tavernn)

Personnally I think the cannons are maybe a bit too huge, but I'm fine with them right now, I just wish survival crafts are implemented soon-ish. Edit : A couple of minutes later, and the creator updates the mod by adding crafts and breaking most cannons. Couldn't have better timing than this.
Thank you! I feel like the ram to insert shells is a bit annoying, it makes the thing super long. But for the cannon I really went all the way and took the biggest body, it's for a big tank! And I saw that it's coming, looks complicated so I haven't really took a serious look at it yet. (Thinking about it, the ram doesn't need to be that long if the shell is built one by one inside the cannon, that could even let the system have different amount of charges per shots)
I designed an autoloader just this week that's capable of loading 6 powders + shell w/fuse, and when I made the design, I didn't even consider using minecarts because of the space constraint I arbetarily set. Comparing your design to mine, I see that your design is massively more compact and can theoretically be much faster while using less SU to power. Your design should also so theoretically be infinitely scaleable for any size. That said, it's gonna be a very long loader because of the back end of the ram rod.
@@Mysda_ have you considered the idea of a rotary design? If you put a rotary chassis just under the screw breach, you can place deployers around it and make the loader even shorter while making it possible to load arbitrarily long shells in a very small space. That said, it would be significantly slower than your current design. But it will be the most compact design possible.
I think instead of having the cannon yaw rotate, I think you should have the whole thing rotate on the yaw axis. Like a tank. It would look cool and you have a full 360 target system.
this is insane. I tried it out and my mind is blown at how well it works, one thing tho, you should swap out the impact fuze for proximity fuzes at 4 block range, they do much more damage,
I'm sadly not up to date with big cannons and I fear updating! In my version some shells and fuze just don't work, so haven't been able to test. It shouldn't be too hard to update the cart loader

I’ve been looking for a good ‘auto’ cannon since I made my own and blew it up because it clipped a bit into a block, and I finally found it! Now I just have to slap a few balloons on it from the Valkyrien skies mod and hope it works
@Mysda I tried putting it on a ship (from Valkyrien skies), everything except the Redstone links worked. It’s definitely possible but I’d need to drastically change the design to use more manual systems
I am making a submarine with the create mod. I wanted cannons on both sides of the submarine, however when I flipped the schematic it didn't work. I also tried swaping directions on the sequenced gear shifts. And moving when the delayed would happen. But the minecart contraption would always get destroyed by the sliding cannon door.
There is a lot that can go wrong, I would recommend using the cannon that is in the tank as it has all the safety done properly. If you don't use the 2 windmills that comes with it, just know that you need arround 7k SU
As a non-owner of the mod, does the gun work if you rotate it to, say, 45 degrees? I’m trying to figure out if you could make the whole breech, autoloader and storage rotate in order to aim, preventing the gun from snapping back.
The cannon has to be rotated by the specific part that rotates cannon. It cannot be used when it's part of a contraption. So no you can't do much more, other than rotating the whole turret by 90 degree.
Sure, just maybe don't do a tank with it now, since it's already what I'm doing for my next video haha. It is already designed to be mobile, all rotations are neutral to make it not directional and the deployer issue is fixed with the dispenser.
I won't do a video on it but it's pretty much just based on timings with sequenced gearshifts. You can check the schematic tho. (And the cannon in the tank is actually an updated version of it if you encounter any issue)
I've pasted the schematic and the cannon loader isn't working and the screw breech is moving at the wrong time, so it doesn't work at all. Any ideas to fix it?
Nice cannon, but how did you get this mod? When i download it on forge it doesn't have nearly as many features as what you had, is it a special version or somthing?
Have you read the description and seen the whole video? There is quite a lot of information already. The redstone controller uses Up/Down/Left/right to aim the cannon, and the Jump to shot.
Oh thats the annoying part when it breaks, you have to turn off the redstone lamp at the front but doing so will active the sequence to reload. So make sure you break what this block inputs into before.
@@kuzeykanloglu2195 it's the pulse extender behind the deployer, it has to be updated after your place the schematic. Just click it twice to invert it 2 times.

@@Dexkétoprofène you need to check the version, make sure you print it in the right direction, update the part behind the deployer, load the cart from the second schematic, put it in the dispenser. So yeah it's not a simple download, load and go. But I made it quite robust already. Tho the version in the tank video is the better option, but it comes with the tank.
Thank you! The carts are reloaded by the portable storage interface. But I kinda forgot to also add the fuze for the loading arm. If you want to access the cart you can put it on a cart assembler and see the inventory directly

Excatly yes! I stopped at a really small length to make it fit into my tank, but it's a pretty useful design
