This Oasis "hole in the wall" Gyro shop is the best gyro in Chania and one of the oldest 💯. And that's from a local

Greece has some of the most delicious and affordable food in all of Europe, and the people there are extremely hospitable. During my stay in in the continent, Greece was my favorite country out of all the places we visited

It's always so interesting how much more everything is in Australian Dollars compared to Euro.
I watched a Sontorini short right before this and wow they really slapped on the tourist prices there, but this one had really affordable food!

This is making me crave gyros rn!! Btw chips in Greece usually aren't super crispy like what you'd find in McDonald's (some of my friends even say the crispy ones taste "fake" to them) but are usually on the softer side ☺️

Nah yeah youre sr, greek here, and finding those thinner crispier fries in pitogyro is more unusual, though i do like the kick sometimes, but the classics are our og fries that are soft and bigger😌

in Thessaloniki etc towns we put instead ketchup, mustard and french fries, in some fast food stores here we put lettuce & even sliced carrots and sliced cabbage, btw we also here they use chicken gyro too for people who do not like pork maybe or idk xD sorry my English bad

You should have defiantly have tried moussaka! It’s like a lasagna but with more delicious greens in it. It also has a like soft cheese pudding layer on top of it, and I think that the cheese pudding is the best part! Btw like every place in Greece there isn’t crispy fries/chips.
The top layer of moussaka is bechamel sauce, some people add cheese some don't and the rest of the ingredients are potatoes, eggplant and minced meat ❤

I was once at a terrible wannabe Greek restaurant in Austin. their title has the words authentic and Greek next to eachother. their teziki sauce was literally just mayo and cucumbers. never going back again
